1. Reporting Structure

• Reports to Head of Business Development / Chief Executive Officer to carry out all roles & responsibilities in consultation with the reporting personnel.

2. Responsibilities

• Maintain and nurture stakeholder relations; generally, the Senior Executive is expected to work closely with the VP (Business Development & Communications);
• Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives for SBA and SBA-related tournaments (e.g. National Championships, Singapore Badminton Open); this includes working with third-party vendors;
• Produce and edit video and marketing materials;
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with media representatives/journalists, while drafting and editing various media materials, including press releases;
• Manage SBA's various social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube) and website content;
• Liaise with and manage players for official activation and media interviews.

3. Requirements

• At least Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing or related field with at least 3 years of working experience in building strategic alliances, partnerships and business development;
• Possesses strong verbal, written and presentation skills;
• Able to use various media editing tools such as Photoshop, Capcut;
• Strong team player;
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task;
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams is necessary for implementing business development initiatives successfully;
• Well-organised and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

4. Salary

Pay range will be from S$3,500 – S$4,000

5. Working Hours*

Mon – Thu 8.30am – 6pm

Fri 8.30am – 5.30pm

* Depending on work exigences, such as tournaments and activations, one may be required to work on weekends

Singapore Badminton Association – Sparring Partner / Coach Assistant

The Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) is Singapore's national governing body. To support the National Singles Team's daily training environment, the SBA aims to engage the services of a Sparring Partner / Coach Assistant. This role combines sparring partner services with coaching and mentoring National Team Players at international competitions.

Key responsibilities and main tasks and activities:

· Assist National Coaches with the planning and delivery of National Singles Team training.

· Act as Sparring Partner when required.

· Travel to international competitions to coach and mentor National Team Players.

· The Coach Assistant reports to the Singles Head Coach.

The successful candidate shall possess the following attributes:

· A minimum of 3 years of Sparring Partner experience in an elite-level badminton setting.

· Competitive with top World Ranked 75 -100 players

· Bring high quality sparring for all national players

· A clear understanding of annual planning and periodisation principles in the sport of Badminton and how they can be applied across the developing players

· Holds the BWF Level 1 qualification or equivalent as a minimum.

· Candidates should have strong communication skills. Be fluent in English as the primary language

· Prepared to go the extra mile for Singapore national team players

Singapore Badminton offers a matching salary that reflects our interest in attracting the right candidate: S$2,800-S$3,500 per month.

Job Description:

This is a sought-after role within a high performance, fast paced and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will have an invigorating working position which requires strong leadership and direction of a Junior Performance Programme. Working closely with a number of stakeholders and managing Coaches to deliver a strong Performance Pathway within Singapore. Facilitating on a daily basis to enable players to be nurtured to their optimum potential.

Reporting Structure:

Jointly to the Singapore Badminton Association Technical Director Singapore Sports School Performance Manager. or person assigned by the pre-named people, to carry out all roles & responsibilities in consultation with the reporting personnel.

Main roles and responsibilities:

• Responsible lead for the Junior Performance player pathway in Singapore.

• The strategic lead for the Singapore Junior Performance Programmes, involved with selection, nurturing and player development through the Programme. To set a clear strategic direction for the Singapore Junior Performance Programmes and Junior Performance Player Pathway.

• To lead the process of change including enhancement of the pathway through the age groups

• Planning of the programmes which will be delivered by the Coaching Team.

• Management and on-going education of the Coaches involved in the Junior Performance Programme.

• Reporting back effectively to SBA and SSP on the Programme and Players.

• Link Junior Programmes directly into the SBA performance system.

• Manage the recruitment for the Programme with the Junior Programme Head Coach and Programme Coaches.

• To lead on the talent identification processes and selection of players for the Singapore Junior Performance Programme Squads, directing and managing their development within the programme, communicating this effectively with concerned parties.

• Act as liaison for those players identified future senior Talent for their progress up the Performance Pathway.

• To manage the Junior Performance Head Coach and the Coaching Team, and delegate responsibility for specific areas of the Singapore Junior Performance Programmes where appropriate.

• To establish an international tournament programme and select the players in line with the Junior Performance Head Coach and Coaching Team.

Competencies:

• Organised and experienced in leading and delivering Performance level Programmes.

• Prepared to lead by example.

• Successful candidate will be prepared to make changes to the current system where required in order for the Junior Performance Programmes to have the appropriate focus.

• Strong communicator – both written and verbal. Be able to communicate effectively in English (primarily), Mandarin would also be advantageous.

• Experience in budget management

• Experience in stakeholders’ management

• Experience in leading a team

• Strong knowledge of the Sports Sciences and how to implement new knowledge and support systems effectively in the Singapore Junior Performance Programmes

• Have a strong on-court coaching background (not necessarily in badminton).

Salary:

Competitive for the right candidate

In the region of $120K to $150K
