- Develop & maintain cost accounting system, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation methodologies.
- Analyse manufacturing processes to identify cost reduction opportunities and implement efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate costing of products and services.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review.
- Monitor inventory levels and reconciles discrepancies between physical and book counts.
- Lead cost-related projects/families, such as new product cost analysis and cost modelling.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to cost accounting.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate costing processes for production and materials.
- Responsible for standard costs for raw materials, packaging, machinery and finished goods and update variance analyses.
- Analyse manufacturing costs, overheads, purchase price and COGS variances.
- Manage cost-related budgets and perform variance analyses.
- Generate periodic reports for management, analysing factors affecting product prices and profitability.
- Any ad-hoc duties as assigned.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the finance team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA Certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 year of experience in cost accounting or cost control, preferably in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, cost accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in cost accounting software Microsoft Excel, and ERP system (e.g., SAP, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
