Job Summary
The Logistics Assistant is responsible in a wide variety of logistics activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receiving of incoming shipment, checking, repacking and put away (binning to shelves)
- Ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged in SAP.
- Handle daily logistics and shipping activities including: Filing and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements (Transporter, Forwarders, etc.), ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area.
- Process of orders thru SAP transaction including pick & pack for shipment, issue to Service department, workshop and sub-con/fabricator.
- Handle filing of documents, e.g. Assembly orders, Production orders, Picking list, shipping documents.
- Carry out cycle counts activities as specify in the cycle count policy.
- Sorting of Picking Lists, Production/Assembly orders, Service orders for picking.
- Packing of returned seals from Service to put back to customer stock.
- Developing, documenting, and maintaining departmental work instructions for all tasks. E.g. SAP work flow process and procedure.
- Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet logistics demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow.
- Enforcing safety regulations at all times. Understand Risk assessment, safe work procedure and Tool box meeting topics.
- Continuously improve logistics operations and processes through the use of Continuous Improvement initiatives/practices. Example: 5 S, eliminate 7 wastes and visual management.
- Collaboration with other departments to coordinate activities e.g. Supplier issue, rush order request and quality issue.
- Communicate matter to the Logistics manager in order to keep him/her updated.
- Address issue and use problem solving tools to resolve the problem.
