Responsibilities

This is a fixed term contract for 24 months.

The successful candidate will be onboarded in the Platform and Cloud Hosting team which:

• Deploys, supports and maintains Societe Generale (SG) global Private Cloud infrastructure (compute, storage, software defined network, etc.)
• Advises internal partners on how to leverage the Cloud – Private or Public – to increase the delivery of business value
• Guide and assist our application team to adopt our cloud native technologies
• Work closely with regional and global teams to support on the platform

Role and responsibilities:

As a Platform and Cloud Engineer, the candidate's mission will be to:

• Install, configure and support SG cloud platform underlying resource plane and control plane infrastructure (hardware and software components)
• Releasing projects and maintenance operations in production without impact
• Be a technical reference for internal partners and advise on standard Cloud practices or innovative solutions to bring value in a competitive and challenging market environment
• Structure and guide our internal partners through their Cloud-Journey, accelerate the adoption of Cloud technologies and best practices, and provide consolidated reporting across the organization
• Create technical content such as reference apps, starter kits and patterns and practical guidance that will get our developers excited about the potential of the Cloud
• Represent the team in various regional and global forums where technical expertise is required
• Be a technical reference and mentor for the team to increase their knowledge about software development & cloud patterns

Profile required

Academic Background and Certifications, Experience:

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Passionate about learning new technologies, sharing knowledge, and solving complex challenges
• Strong automation mindset with little tolerance for repetitive work.
• Fluent English is mandatory, and excellent communication is a must
• Strong experience with Linux-based Operating System, OpenStack, CEPH, Docker
• Experience with commodity hardware (Dell, HPE, etc.)
• Experience with Kubernetes (or other container technologies) and Databases (PgSQL, NoSQL, etc.)
• Experience with Object Storage (Scality, EMC ECS, etc.), File and Block Storage (Pure, NetApp, EMC, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure automation through CI/CD, DevOps tooling like Python, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Git, Github Actions, etc.
• Knowledge in Public Cloud CPs is a plus (Azure, AWS, etc.)
• Exposure to and interest in Cloud technologies
• Well organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic, fast learning, growth mindset
• Team Player and Collaborator with excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

MISSIONS:

• Lead Foreign Exchange (FX) Information Technology (IT) ASIA team in dual locations (Hong Kong and Singapore) to deliver high level of production services and to bring values for business
• Show accountability for issues and topics in Foreign Exchange chain by troubleshooting, cooperating with relevant teams and providing solutions
• Drive changes with global team by sharing visions and strategic views for roadmap
• Develop stronger production monitoring methodology and automate process for continuous improvement
• Manage prioritization of issues, and work closely with various teams like infrastructure, application development team to analysis and resolve root causes
• Conduct clear incident communication, timely follow up on postmortem, and challenge for target solution
• Responsible to be aware of and to manage all risks within activities managed by foreign exchange Information Technology team
• Responsibility can be extended to cover larger scope beyond Foreign Exchange Information Technology depending on candidate profile

Academic Background and Certifications, Experience:

• Extensive experience working in Information Technology (IT) in Technology solutions facing the Front office in the banking industry
• Prior experience in large scale global application support or/and Development and strong experience in working with teams in remotely locations
• Able to work with sense of urgency under multiple deadlines and successfully organize and complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to technically analyze problems encountered with these systems and employing technical skills to overcome them
• Experience in managing communications across business and technology stakeholders at varying levels across a medium to large scale enterprise
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Self-motivated and delivery-focused individual
• Board knowledge in both pre-trade and post-trade activities, and Ability to understand the big picture - can step back and understand the context of problems and react accordingly
• Proven written and verbal communication skills at business writing level, and develop long lasting relationships with all levels of management
• Functional knowledge and work experience in Over the Counter (OTC) Fixed Income & Currencies (FIC) derivatives, especially in Foreign Exchange (FX) Cash and Options will be preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with trading team to identify market opportunities in FX and Rates markets, communicate actively with sales on ideas for sharing with clients.
• Use of existing back-testing and pricing tools in python to build screens and alerts, identify anomalies.
• Conduct analysis based on embedded carry, trend, scenarios.
• Produce customized strategy graphs and support for trade Idea generation tools in python.
• Generate team’s standardized publications.
• Maintain and proactively assist in the refinement of tools utilized by the desk.
• Manage the desk’s administrative tasks
• Assist in the production of marketing documents & market colour

Profile required

Academic Background and Certifications, Experience:

• Quantitative Degree in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics
• Prior internship experience in Global Macro (buy side) / Markets (sell side), Trading of Rates & FX products will be valued
• Demonstrated proficiency in coding – particularly in Python, VBA
• General awareness and appreciation for global current affairs, macroeconomic and policy environment
• Familiar with products traded (Interest Rate Derivatives products: swaps, futures, options)
• Must be very reliable and pay particular attention to detail
• Ability to adapt quickly to challenging situations and find innovative solutions
• High standard of written and spoken English is mandatory
