To assist with office administrative and accounting for the Singapore office of Solis Marine.

Primary duties and responsibilities

Accounting

• Assist with maintaining records relating to ongoing work and work completed.
• Preparation of invoices for work completed/ in progress, debit and credit notes, payments, issuance of cheques/ TT and bank reconciliation.
• Preparation of intercompany invoices and assist with the posting of transactions (Quick Books or Zero).
• Maintain records and process monthly business and personnel expenses incurred.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts/ reports (P&L, accounts payable/ receivable)
• Liaise with company secretary, bankers, local authorities, and other relevant parties pertaining to finance and account related matters
• Responsible for monthly CPF contributions, tax clearance/ annual tax filing by working closely with Group Accountant during annual audit process.
• Assist with payroll, CPF and any other required statutory submission.
• Liaise with Group Accountant as required.

Administrative

• Provide administrative support with regards to data capture on CRM, including enquiries, jobs confirmed and updating client details.
• Provide administrative support for consultants with regards to timesheets, monthly expenses etc.
• Assist consultants with any administration work, data capture, preparation of survey reports or correspondence relating to any ongoing work in progress.
• Assist with document control, filing and retention of records on Dropbox.
• Maintain records of all subscriptions/ license and arrange for renewal as required.
• Assist with obtaining quotations for the procurement of new equipment, software or other assets as well as attending to repair and maintenance requirements as needed.
• Assist with marketing activities as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or graduate with a qualification in Finance/ Accounting/ Banking/ Business Administration.
• 1-2 years of work experience in the accounting field.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to details, high level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• PC literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Fluent in spoken and written English. Possession of any additional languages will be an advantage.

As Master Mariner Consultant (Singapore), you will deliver expert marine consultancy services to clients worldwide, including P&I and H&M insurers, brokers, lawyers, shipowners, and other clients as directed.

Primarily based in Singapore, you will be an integral part of the Solis Marine team in Singapore, reporting directly to the regional General Manager. You will also be a member of the global master mariner team, providing support to colleagues in other geographical regions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The role is wide-ranging and leans on your expertise and experience in the field of marine operations, including:
• Preparing expert reports for arbitration and court proceedings in English language to high standards of technical competence and with integrity
• Investigating navigation incidents, cargo damage and other related incidents
• Attending salvage and wreck removal operations for monitoring purposes
• Performing surveys onboard vessels, which will require international travel and visits to ship-repair yards and other port facilities.
• Offering comprehensive loss prevention support to various stakeholders in the maritime industry
• Supporting the wider Solis Marine team as required.
• Being proactive in marketing, developing the business and nurturing and maintaining client relationships
• Hold a valid Seafarers medical certificate (UK Equivalent)
• You must have the physical ability to safely carry out shipboard inspections on vessels both at anchor and in shipyards and other industrial facilities worldwide, which will require fitness levels to allow safe access in and out of cargo hold, cargo and ballast tanks and other enclosed spaces.

Qualifications

• STCW Master Mariner Unlimited (STCW AII/2) Certificate of Competency (COC)

Experience

• You will have significant seagoing experience in a management position onboard vessels of over 3000 GT, have a sound working knowledge and practical experience with ECDIS and other shipboard navigation systems.
• In addition, a good understanding of the maritime industry, in particular the commercial aspects of shipboard operations and maintenance, and preferably experience in shore-based technical management.

As Marine Warranty Surveyor (Singapore), you will assist with providing marine warranty services to our clients in relation to a wide range of shipping and offshore operations and assist with mitigating the associated risks for their insurers.

Primarily based in Singapore, you will be an integral part of the Solis Marine team in Singapore, reporting directly to the Head of Marine Warranty Services. You will also be a member of the global Solis Marine team, providing support to colleagues in other geographical regions.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role is wide-ranging and leans on your expertise and experience in the field of marine warranty, including:

• Review of transportation documentation and procedures for a wide range of shipping and offshore operations including loading and sea fastening of project cargo, towage, transportation, offshore operations and installation of offshore structures.
• Attendance on site as marine warranty surveyor to verify compliance with approved plans and procedures, which will require both regional and international travel.
• Assisting the wider Solis Marine team with incident investigation, damage surveys and related services.
• Being proactive in marketing, developing the business and nurturing and maintaining client relationships.
• Willingness to work flexible hours during attendance on site to meet clients’ operational requirements.

Qualifications

• A higher diploma or degree in maritime studies or nautical sciences.
• STCW AII/2 certificate of competency (chief officer or master)
• Alternatively, a Bachelors or master’s degree in Naval Architecture, or,
• Other related qualification or similar practical work experience.
• Hold a valid medical certificate or seafarers medical (UK equivalent).
• You must have the physical ability and fitness levels to safely carry out the required surveys onboard vessels either at anchor or alongside in port facilities or offshore facilities and shipyards.

Experience

• Seagoing experience with a sound knowledge of shipboard operations and in particular a good understanding of cargo stowage and securing arrangements. Other similar experience working in port or terminal may also be considered.
• Preferably a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience working as a marine warranty surveyor or naval architect involved with marine transportation solutions or similar project management role.

As Marine Engineer Consultant (Singapore), you will deliver expert marine engineering services toclients worldwide, including P&I and H&M insurers, brokers, lawyers, shipowners, and other clients as directed.

Primarily based in Singapore, you will be an integral part of the Solis Marine team in Singapore, reporting directly to the regional General Manager. You will also be a member of the global engineering team, providing support to colleagues in other geographical regions.

The role is wide-ranging and leans on your expertise and experience in the field of marineengineering, including:

• preparing expert reports for arbitration and court proceedings in English language to high standards of technical competence and with integrity
• performing hull and machinery damage surveys, which will require international travel and visits to ship-repair yards and other industrial facilities
• investigating fuel quality issues
• offering comprehensive loss prevention support to various stakeholders in the maritime industry
• supporting the wider Solis Marine team of master mariners and naval architects as required
• being proactive in marketing, developing the business and nurturing and maintaining client relationships

Qualifications

Attainment of STCW Chief Engineer Unlimited III/2 Certificate of Competency

Experience

You will have significant seagoing experience, including sailing in a senior onboard position, a good understanding of the maritime industry, in particular the commercial aspects of ship operation and maintenance, and preferably experience in shore-based technical management.
