Main Purpose of Job
Reporting to the Principal Officer, this role is primarily responsible for the oversight of the financial reporting for St. James’s Place International plc (Singapore Branch) (“SJPISB”). The role holder is also responsible for providing business support for SJPISB.
Key Responsibilities of the Job
- Ensure that all financial reporting for SJPISB is in accordance with all relevant reporting standards/requirements and consistent with the relevant accounting policies and standards.
- Ensure that the Key Finance Controls of SJPISB are appropriate including the processing of payments and transfers within the Branch's delegated authorities framework.
- Responsible for review and oversight of quarterly and annual regulatory and tax-related returns including ensuring appropriate sign off and governance.
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly Management Information reports for distribution to SJPISB management and relevant Committees.
- Ensure that all other monthly, quarterly, and annual timetable actions are completed, and the SJPISB's Finance Monthly Task Calendar is signed off accordingly.
- Be the local liaison for the auditors to allow them to complete their annual audit in a time efficient manner.
- Ensure all relevant mandates, controls and documentation are updated and in line with MAS requirements.
- Provide local oversight of service relationships with external banking providers, corporate secretarial, tax and other advisers.
- Support SJPISB in its oversight of its third party providers including the administration centres, asset custodian, actuary and payroll providers.
- Responsible for the production of the outsourcing oversight Management Information reports.
- Support SJPISB and the Asia & Middle East Finance Division in related processes as requested by the Principal Officer.
Requirements of the Job:
- At least 4 years of relevant experience
- Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, etc.) with knowledge of Singapore FRS and accounting fundamentals
- Sound working knowledge of insurance accounting and RBC 2 reporting will be advantageous
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and liaise with other stakeholders to find the best solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
