We are a bilingual school (German-English and French-English) officially recognized by the Swiss Confederation. Around 260 children (between the age of two and twelve) from 19 different countries are currently attending the SSIS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine checks and repairs on tables, chairs, carpentry, doors, windows, key locks, plumbing, electrical, lighting and HVAC systems, air purifying and dehumidifying systems.
• Conduct regular checks on school facilities and equipment.
• Collaborate with operations and facilities team in maintaining a safe and clean school environment, outdoor spaces and gardens.
• Regular floor scrub and maintenance work on classroom wall and ceilings.
• Help set-up and take down equipment and furniture for school events and activities.
• Co-ordinate with staff to meet specific setup requests.
• Operate the night light system for events purpose.
• Assist and supervise external contractors when necessary.
• Conduct painting and touch-up work for walls, doors and furniture when necessary
• Participate in building maintenance upgrade projects.
• Assist with installation of new fixtures, furniture and equipment.
• Conduct and support preparation work for bi-annual pest audit.
• Inspect and clear leaves in the drainage system on the roof.

Requirements:

• Experience in building maintenance
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems and scaffolding
• Ability to work indepently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills in English
• Basic English reading and writing skills
• Open to digital work platforms, e.g. Microsoft Teams
• Able and willing to work overtime/occasional weekends
