Job Description
AutoCAD Drafter Responsibilities:
- Use AutoCAD software to prepare detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and schematics for various building and infrastructure projects.
- Work with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and produce accurate technical drawings.
- Create and modify 2D and 3D models to represent the project's design and layout.
- Ensure that all AutoCAD drawings comply with relevant building codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Review and revise drawings as needed to meet design changes or client feedback.
- Maintain an organized library of AutoCAD files and project documentation.
- Prepare and present drawings and models to clients and project teams for review and approval.
Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
- Perform quantity take-offs for construction materials and labor based on technical drawings and project specifications.
- Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs) and ensure that they accurately reflect the materials and work required for the project.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, budget plans, and procurement schedules for construction projects.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase to ensure compliance with the budget and report on cost variances.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations for materials and services.
- Assist in tendering processes, preparing bid documents, and evaluating contractor submissions.
- Manage project procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid delays in the construction schedule.
- Conduct site visits to verify quantities, assess project progress, and measure completed works for interim valuations.
- Prepare and submit periodic financial reports on project expenditure, including forecasts for completion costs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software, including 2D and 3D drafting.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost estimation.
- Minimum 5 years experience in construction field.
- Familiarity with construction management software and tools
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to interpret and work with technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for cost management and reporting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, contractors, and project teams.
