Job Description & Requirements
Accountant reports to Head of Finance and is involved in most, all aspects of accounting and in-charge of full set of accounts for Group and subsidiary accounts.
The Accountant is responsible for daily activities of accounting and ensures that the Organisation's finance function is well organized, providing accurate financial statements and management accounts on time, thus achieving compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements.
Accountant must keep current with changing statutory requirements and taxation to determine the implications of such changes to financial reporting.
- Handle and manage full set of accounts
- Perform month-end and year end closing and its reporting pack with analytics
- Responsible for the month end & year end reporting; additionally, in Fund Accounting (for YE statutory purposes)
- Responsible for other submission eg GST, various Funding agencies reporting, etc
- Fixed assets management
- Prepare and maintain various journal entries, schedules and reconciliation reports
- Assist in the preparation of annual budget including budgetary controls
- Administer banking transactions including internet banking
- Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, accounting standards, corporate governance and other regulatory requirements: company's books are properly kept in accordance with accounting standards and company policies
- Ability to apply relevant accounting knowledge
- Involvement in fund-raising events when required
- Any other ad-hoc projects/studies and responsibilities may be assigned, if need be from time to time
