As a Part-Time English Teacher at The Alternative Story (T.A.S.), you will be teaching 2-hour English tuition and Creative Writing classes to Primary and/or Secondary School students. You will be empowered to do what you love and love what you do. With your passion and drive, you will make learning effective yet enjoyable for your students!

Solely focusing on teaching, you will have a unique opportunity to mould the next generation while enjoying flexibility in your schedule.

Required Qualifications

• Familiar with the Singapore Primary/Secondary School English syllabus and its challenges
• Graduate from a local university (NUS, NTU, SMU)

• Comprehensive theory and practical training will be given on an ongoing basis, helping to continuously build your skills in areas such as communication, mentoring and problem solving
• At least 3 - 4 classes, inclusive of minimally 2 weekend classes (2 hours per class)
• Work location may include multiple branches (Tampines Central, Marine Parade Central, Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Timah)
• Commit to work until 31 December 2025

Prior to teaching, you will undergo a one-month paid training programme where you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge you need to teach successfully.

• Comprehensive theory and practical training will be given on an ongoing basis, helping to continuously build your skills in areas such as communication, mentoring and problem solving
• Flexibility to telecommute outside of class timing
• Opportunities to be exposed in other key functions such as developing materials and planning curriculum are available, if keen
• At least 10-12 classes a week (2 hours per class)
• Work schedule to include Friday evenings and at least 1 day of the weekend
• 2 days off a week
• Must be able to work at Tampines Central and 1 other branch (Ang Mo Kio, Marine Parade, Bukit Timah)
• 1-year contract position with possibility of extension/conversion to permanent
• Commit to work till December 2025
