Job Description – Business Development Manager – Fundraising
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager – Fundraising to spearhead fundraising efforts for our growing media company.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in raising capital, forging strategic partnerships, and navigating the investment landscape for media, advertising, or digital platforms. This role requires exceptional relationship management skills, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the media industry's challenges and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure capital from institutional investors, venture capitalists, angel investors, and other funding sources.
- Identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities aligned with the company’s growth goals and business model.
- Investor Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, presenting the company’s vision, mission and value proposition effectively.
- Manage communications with potential and existing investors, including regular updates, reports, and stakeholder meetings.
- Pitching and Negotiation
- Prepare compelling pitch decks, business plans, and financial models to attract investment.
- Lead negotiations with investors to secure favourable terms for funding.
- Market Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential growth areas for the company.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team based on market dynamics and investor feedback.
- Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships to enhance the company’s market position and create additional revenue streams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the executive team, marketing, and finance departments to align fundraising efforts with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with legal and financial regulations related to fundraising activities.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development, fundraising, or investment roles, preferably in the media or advertising industry.
- Proven track record of raising funds, managing investor relations, and achieving revenue targets.
- Skills
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Deep understanding of the media industry and investment landscape.
