Key Responsibilities:
- Fully comprehend and harness Tonik's core capabilities and strengths for strategic international expansion.
- Identify and leverage Tonik's unique offerings to gain a competitive advantage in Philippines and new markets for expansion.
- Keep the team abreast of key regulatory changes and industry rumours, identifying potential entry opportunities in target markets.
- Actively monitor and analyse divestiture possibilities that align with Tonik's expansion goals.
- Conduct a thorough analysis for the target country:
- Gauge potential market size through macroeconomic data and statistical analysis.
- Assess the competitive landscape, identifying potential competitors, evaluating their strengths and weaknesses, and forecasting their strategic trajectories.
- Monitor changes in the regulatory environment, particularly focusing on banking and financial regulations.
- Develop a comprehensive go-to-market strategy, including:
- Define target customer personas and understand their pain points.
- Design product parameters aligned with market needs.
- Determine the mode of entry, whether through organic build, strategic partnerships, or investment/acquisition.
- Develop financial projections considering the market environment and the chosen go-to-market strategy.
- Identify and execute any potential M&A transactions in the Philippines and/or new markets, which includes in-depth analysis of the region, competitive landscape and 6Ps, due diligence, valuation and model and completion of negotiations and transaction process from origination to closing.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports on market analysis, competitive landscape, regulatory changes, and financial projections for internal and external stakeholders.
- Execute market entry strategies, including acquisition of relevant licenses, investment in/acquisition of existing operating entities, or other viable means.
- Liaise with third-party service providers, such as legal and financial advisors, to facilitate the successful execution of the market entry plan.
- Ensure that all strategic planning activities align with Tonik's overall business objectives and growth targets.
- Identify areas for improvement in the strategic planning process and propose enhancements to optimize market entry strategies.
- Foster strong communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with strategic goals.
- Be adaptable to taking on any additional duties commensurate with the evolving needs of the role and the organization's strategic objectives.
Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; understanding of banking business is a plus
- At least 5 - 6 years of experience in research, finance, consulting, or strategy development, preferably from the banking industry
- Ability to drive the process from fact-finding through strategic recommendation
- Experience working with various stakeholders and coordinating interests of relevant parties
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint
