This role seeks an individual who aspires to make an impact to the society. You will assist in teaching, coaching, and to help individuals with special needs cope with psychological and social challenges and overcome barriers in daily activities and workplace performance. This role can be part time or contract.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the team to develop intervention frameworks and implement programs for behavioral management and modification.
- Provide employment support at the work site by guiding trainees in meeting their assigned scope of work, and providing guidance to colleagues, supervisors, and relevant staff in working with trainees.
- Monitor the progress of trainees, identify gaps in their development at different stages, and ensure that their development plan is updated regularly to support their continuous growth.
- Facilitate trainees and caregivers to take proactive and self-determined steps for home-based intervention.
- Act as a liaison among the trainee, supervisor, co-workers, parents, and employers to facilitate communication and resolve conflicts if any.
- Work with the relevant department and personnel at employer sites, such as HR, supervisors, and colleagues, to plan for a smoother transition. This includes conducting awareness training, assessing workplace readiness, and advising on workplace adaptation
Requirements:
- Diploma, Degree or Masters in special education, social work, counselling, psychology, and community care or related.
- Passion in social services, education, health services or related areas is preferred.
- Patient, observant, flexible and resilient.
- Experience with counselling, speech therapy, social work, adult training is an advantage
