Job Title: Logistics Assistant Supervisor
The Warehouse Assistant Supervisor will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in inventory management, shipping and receiving, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, coordinating logistics, and implementing process improvements to optimize workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership: Assist in managing day-to-day warehouse operations.
Supervise and train warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control procedures, including receiving, storing, and distributing products.
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensure accurate record-keeping and update inventory management systems.
- Shipping and Receiving: Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Verify the accuracy of orders and inspect goods for damages or discrepancies.
Communicate with carriers and logistics partners to schedule deliveries and pickups.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards.
Train staff on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
Monitor workflow and suggest changes to optimize warehouse operations.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse activities.
Prepare reports on warehouse performance, including productivity, accuracy, and safety metrics.
Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures and logistics.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Forklift certification
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
