Job description
Customer Communication: Act as a point of contact for customers, responding to inquiries, providing quotes, and assisting with any issues or concerns they may have regarding freight services.
Sales Coordination: Assist in coordinating sales activities, including scheduling appointments, preparing sales materials, and following up with leads.
Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all necessary documentation for freight shipments is complete and accurate, including customs documentation for international shipments. This may involve coordinating with other departments or external partners to gather required information.
Rate Negotiation: Support the sales team in negotiating rates with carriers and other service providers to secure the best pricing for customers while maintaining profitability for the company.
Order Processing: Assist in processing freight orders, including entering orders into the system, coordinating with carriers for pickup and delivery, and tracking shipments to ensure they reach their destination on time.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Maintain customer records and interactions in a CRM system, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately recorded and up-to-date.
Market Research: Assist in conducting market research to identify potential customers and market trends, providing valuable insights to the sales team.
Problem Resolution: Help resolve any issues that arise during the shipping process, such as delays, damages, or documentation errors, by liaising with carriers, customers, and other stakeholders.
Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the freight forwarding services offered by the company, including knowledge of different modes of transportation, shipping regulations, and industry best practices.
Sales Support Materials: Create or update sales support materials such as presentations, case studies, and marketing collateral to assist the sales team in their efforts to acquire new customers and retain existing ones.
