Job Summary

Assisting the Finance Manager in performing day-to-day accounting and finance functions covering all aspects of financial management, financial accounting, budgeting, statutory and internal audit, and reporting.

Supporting role policies and processes implementation and identifying and managing operational and financial risks.

Job Responsibilities

1. Managing financial accounting and reporting functions

• Maintaining the accounting system and subsystems, ensuring the accuracy of data transfer from source systems to the accounting system.
• Supervising and reviewing the accounting process for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, General Ledger, Asset Management in accordance with accounting standards and principles.
• Exercising professional judgement to identify and applying accounting treatments to be adopted to meet statutory and internal reporting requirements.
• Performing quarterly close, GST return and prepare financial statements.
• Supporting evaluation, implementation and training for existing/new accounting system and subsystems.

2. Management accounting and budgeting

• Presenting key findings on financial performance and conducting annual budget exercise.
• Performing variance analysis and reporting to support Centres and HQ budget control management.

3. Managing audits (External and Internal)

• Liaising with external and internal auditors on all audit matters.
• Ensuring annual statutory auditing process are carried out timely and according to compliance.
• Organising effective internal audit process to ensure systems and internal control processes integrity.

4. Managing financial policies and internal control processes

• Identifying and assessing operational and financial risks
• Assisting to develop and execute risk management strategies to protect the organization's financial assets.
• Ensuring compliance to policies, procedures and processes

5. Managing stakeholders

• Liaising with internal stakeholders on operational matters
• Liaising with statutory bodies and other external consultants for operational, financial matters.
• Liaising with bankers for banking and online banking maintenance matters.

Job Requirements

• Min. Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent (Candidates with ACCA/CA will have an added advantage)
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Working knowledge of Accounting Systems and Processes, Accounting Standards and GST Regulations
• Min. 3 years of experience in maintaining full sets of accounts and reporting
• Meticulous, organised, able to work independently
• Experience liaising with stakeholders will be an added advantage
• Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Experience in a non-profit organisation or Charity Fund Accounting will be an added advantage

Role Overview:

As the Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, including transactions, payroll, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle bank reconciliation.

• Proven ability to interpret financial information.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Experience in the broadcast or media industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of tax compliance, corporate tax, withholding tax and GST.
• Bilingual in both English and Chinese is a must as frequent liaising with stakeholders from China and Taiwan
