Budgeting:

• Assist in preparation of annual budget of operating expenses
• Assist in preparation and updating of monthly cashflow forecasts for cash monitoring purposes

Taxation:

• Liaise with tax agents on preparation of annual tax computation
• Prepare and review GST submissions and computations for quarterly GST filing
• Assist in transfer pricing study and documentations

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or equivalent, with strong practical accounting knowledge
• 5-8 years of professional experience in MNCs, with both accounting / tax experience, including working in a computerised accounting environment (supervisory/reviewing experience is an advantage). Experience with M3/Infor ERP system will be highly advantageous
• Fluent in English and Mandarin to liaise with Chinese employees. Ability to converse and write in French is an advantage to liaise with the headquarters.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
• Skilled at establishing and cultivating strong relationships across different levels of the organisation and externally
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
• Able to work under deadlines and pressure
• Experience in the wine industry or personal interest in fine wine is an advantage

The Accountant is responsible to assist the Director & Assistant Director of Finance to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the accounting functions within the Accounting Department.

• Ideally with a university degree or diploma in Finance, Commerce or Hospitality/Tourism management. Professional Academic Qualification in Accountancy Certified accountants is preferred.
• Min 2 years work experience as Accountant in larger operation.

Position Duties

• The responsibilities of the Accountant is to record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting processes, verify if transactions are recorded correctly in the ledger, perform partial check of posting processes, and perform bank reconciliation.
• The Accountant is also tasked to enter data, maintain records, launch reports, process accounts receivables and payables, and assist to prepare the management accounts.

Other Responsibilities

• In charge of maintaining full sets of books for a portfolio of clients including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, register, raising journals and preparing financial reports in Xero accounting system activity statements, and payroll support for clients
• Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
• Creation of Xero Files
• Creation of Dext and Hubdoc accounts
• Communication with clients
• Ensuring on time lodgement of tax returns, BAS's and payroll
• Other ad-hoc accounting related duties as requested by the Management.

• Degree/diploma in Accountancy- MUST!
• 2-5 years relevant experience 
• Fluent in Mandarin 
• Professional certification preferred but not essential e.g. ACCA, CPA, or CA
• Computer savvy with proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Experience with XERO- must. Preferably a Certified User. 
• Experience with software like Dext and Hubdoc- PLUS
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, proactive and detail-oriented.

• Works closely with the accounting team, other departments and overseas colleagues to ensure a smooth closing of accounts of companies managed in Singapore.
• Assists in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing of accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financials to Head Office. This includes preparation of year-end report packages, financial statements and schedules for statutory reporting.

Job Description

• Maintaining accuracy of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journals for multiple legal entities
• Review Overdue Items Report, follow up and escalate overdue items as needed
• Run report in system and review accounts for ageing and value
• Generate GL reports, perform trend analysis, and commence Variance Analysis
• Be informed of and implement changes to the SLA
• Review post-close Journal Entry activities to identify opportunities to decrease transaction volume and increase efficiency
• Update risk and issue log
• Work across different departments to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
• Manage disaster recovery planning, updates, and testing as well as contingency plans
• Ensure compliance with record retention policy
• Work with internal stakeholders to understand new responsibilities as part of migration of new work. Assess the need for changes to the SLA to accommodate the migration of new work
