Accountant

Responsibilities

· Gathers and collects data to prepare monthly financial statements reflecting accrued expenses and prepaid accounts.

· Prepares general ledger journal entries for assigned accounts, ensuring all activity is recorded, corrections are made and adjustments are calculated and posted.

· Reviews all invoices concerning capital equipment expenditures and prepares schedule for year-end reconciliation of fixed assets.

· Analyzes and records investment funds' activities on a monthly basis reconciling bank statements of cash and assets to the general ledger.

· Prepares analyses for assigned accounts, researching records and reports, identifying errors and submitting corrections with analysis and support to director involved.

· Prepares miscellaneous billing invoices including recording charges to the general ledger, assigning invoice numbers, and photocopying and sending out invoices.

· Prepares monthly bank reconciliations.

· Prepares monthly closing package. This report involves detailed analysis of general ledger accounts.

· Assists auditors by preparing audit schedules during year-end audit.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

· Ability to complete mathematical calculations in order to complete required analyses and reports and knowledge of general accounting principles which is normally acquired by completing a Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field.

· A relatively high level of analytical ability is required to gather, analyze and interpret financial information to prepare a variety of statements and reports.

· Good interpersonal skills needed to explain and interpret ledgers and accounts to employees and managers.

· Familiar with SAP and JDE is an advantage

Reporting into the Finance Lead, you will assist in daily accounting activities; month-end closing, preparation of financial statements and financial analysis reports for the management. You will also participate in some fund analysis work, ensuring compliance is in place and other ad-hoc projects when required.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the asset management/fund manager space. Job Description

• Taking care of the day-to-day operations of the funds and following up with third parties, including investors and fund managers;
• Preparing the funds’ periodic Net Asset Value calculation and year-end financial statements, management of the audit, and reviewing other fund related reports;

Job Requirements

• Strong academic background;

• You possess team spirit with the ability to work independently using your own initiative when appropriate;

• High level of IT literacy with strong MS Office skills, especially in Excel and Word;

Description:

1. Accounting and Finance

• Perform fund accounting tasks, including transaction processing, corporate actions, security pricing, reconciliation, fee calculations, and preparing accurate and timely reports and accounting schedules.
• Prepare annual financial statements following relevant accounting standards like US GAAP, IFRS, or SFRS.
• Oversee transfer agency duties such as investor onboarding, capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions, and conducting investor due diligence.
