Job Description

• To handle walk-ins and new enquiries on the services provided by the centre
• To handle parents’/students’ enquires on class timings/ services/ etc • To assist with liaising work with parents and students on any changes to schedule
• Planning of student activities/post-exam activities and curriculum
• Ensuring smooth operation of the centre
• Deliver lessons in an engaging and dynamic manner, based on our curriculum and pedagogy
• Develop lesson materials and provide feedback to help students achieve visible improvement in academic results
• Engage students and help them realise their potential
• Teach Primary to Secondary and IB Chinese Subjects

Requirements:

• Degree obtained from Singapore Local Government Universities or Universities of China
• Experience in Managing tuition centre
• Strong in Chinese and language Subjects
• Demonstrate passion in education – committed to nurturing the students and makes effort to continually improve yourself
• Dynamic and confident, with an approachable disposition
• Strong communication (both spoken and written) and interpersonal skills
• Required to work on weekends
• Candidates with prior teaching experience are preferred
• Fluent in Mandarin

• Must have proficiency to speak English, Tamil and Malay

• Supervises and guide the cleaners assigned to an area.

• Follows-up with work instructions given by the Executive related to the cleanliness of an area.

• Ensures all cleaning are safely, properly and systematically carried out meeting the cleaning requirements.

• Supervises daily and monthly planned periodic works allocated to an area.

• Reports in a timely manner all defects, cleaners’ attendance and completion of all duties assigned.

• To troubleshoot maintenance services failures; handling repair and maintenance work, e.g. air-conditioning, lighting, electrical and plumping services

• Carry out regular inspections to the building and its facilities to maintain a high service delivery level

• Planning of work schedules and deployment of manpower

• To supervise, coordinate and manage work activities of cleaning staff in commercial and industrial establishments

• To assign duties, inspect work performed in accordance with the "Daily Inspection Checklist" to ensure conformance to specifications and established standards

• To train new/existing employees and recommend disciplinary actions where applicable.

• To handle all customers’ feedback

• To ensure good safety practices in the course of work.

• Provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the assigned area

• Manage work execution and performance of junior staff.

• Provide adequate training and coach staff to meet the required contractual standards.

• Conduct daily inspections to monitor and evaluate the work undertaken by staff and take immediate corrective measures to improve below standard performance.

• Implement and recommend operation plans to improve work processes and service quality for the organization

Tenure Track faculty position in Computer Science

The School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) at the Singapore Management University (SMU) has two tenure track faculty position, Assistant professor, in the discipline of Computer Science & Engineering.

At the same time, our faculty actively publish in top-quality Computer Science and Management Science conferences and journals. We are committed to supporting the development of our faculty. Besides start-up support and career mentoring for junior faculty, their Ph.D. students are funded by the school rather than paid from their research grants. SCIS faculty members are encouraged to collaborate on innovative research projects and also on integrative and interdisciplinary projects. SMU as well as Singapore government agencies, such as the National Research Foundation, provide generous support for high-quality research proposals.

A noteworthy example of our funded research is the Living Analytics Research Centre (LARC), operated jointly with Carnegie Mellon University; LARC focuses on building technologies for Social Media Sensing and Analytics, and applying them in Singapore’s Smart Nation initiatives. In the area of Cybersecurity, SCIS has a Secure Mobile Centre that conducts research into mobile device, cloud, and platform security.

Our Education. SCIS has more than 70 students taking the Ph.D. in Information Systems and Ph.D. in Computer Science programmes. Ph.D. students can concentrate in any of our computer science oriented research areas, or in our management science oriented Information Systems & Management research area.

SCIS recently launched a new Professional Doctoral Degree, Doctor of Engineering (EngD). The programme aims to train students to become IT leaders with deep technical expertise for innovating, designing and managing complex IT systems.

SCIS also offers Master of IT in Business (MITB), a professionally oriented coursework programme, which has more than 400 students. The programme supports a Financial Technology & Analytics track focusing on FinTech and the integration of Technology & Operations in Banking, an Analytics track focusing on applied analytics for business, consumer and social insights, as well as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) track that emphasises building AI-enabled business applications.

Additionally, we have over 1,800 undergraduate students in our B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc. (Information Systems) and B.Sc. (Computing & Law) programmes. The programmes have been remarkably successful in demonstrating educational innovations and creating a culture of learning, establishing external linkages and partnerships with industry, government and the social sector, and with job placement. We have an entrepreneurial student body, and many SCIS undergraduates have gone on to create or participate in start-ups.

Responsibilities and duties
