Position Summary

The Infectious Diseases Translational Research Program (IDTRP) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the position of tenure track Assistant Professor. The Department of History at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a tenure-track position, beginning in August 2025, at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate will have a completed PhD degree in History, and have a strong research agenda rooted in World History, with no preference for regions. Candidates should have an international profile commensurate with their rank and stage of career. The Department is particularly interested in applicants with research interests and accomplishments in one or more of the following subfields: gender; science, technology, and society; environment; the ancient world; and international relations. Job Description

1. Conduct lab-based research and perform experiments.
2. Collaborate with colleagues both inside/outside the group.
3. Assist in daily lab management duties.
4. Present and report research results and publish scientific results in peer-reviewed journals in a timely manner.
5. Ensure compliance with environment, safety, health and quality program requirements from all levels (e.g. university, faculty of engineering and the department of MSE).

Job Requirements

A bachelor and a master degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering or related field is required. The candidate should also have some research experiences.

What you will do:

Installs more complex required system field devices and commissioning using standard configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoots and resolves problems. Responds to basic warranty calls. Keeps JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed.

How you will do it:

• Responsible for attending to system breakdown calls and carry out scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate and monitor work progress with the customer and relevant parties for information to expedite installation and supervise sub-contractors work at the site.
• Check and ensure all installations conform to project specifications, and be able to manage system applications, drafting, database generation and commissioning of the systems under your care.
• Perform 24/7 standby duty for complaint and breakdown.
• Ensure safety procedures and conduct during service or repair.

What we look for:

• ITE/Diploma with minimum 1 year’s relevant experience handling preventative maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing activities.
• Service experience in the fire protection field/BMS/Security systems required for this role.
• Willing to standby and back up after office hours
• Willing to learn new things with good attitude.
