Job Overview:
The Logistics/Warehouse Assistant supports daily warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring the accurate handling, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role involves inventory management, order processing, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment while adhering to company policies and safety standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations: Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of delivery documents.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems.
Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess inventory to the supervisor.
- Logistics Support: Coordinate with drivers and transport teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Assist in planning and scheduling shipments to meet customer and business needs.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations in all warehouse and logistics activities.
Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.
Report any incidents, damages, or non-compliance issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Ensure proper storage of goods to prevent damage or contamination.
Label and store items systematically for easy retrieval and efficient operations.
- Administrative Duties: Prepare shipping labels, invoices, and other logistics documentation.
Update records of goods received, stored, and dispatched.
Assist with data entry tasks and generating reports as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Certificate in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.
- O Level or N Level
- Nitec or Higher Nitec
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain role.
- Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse software is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or similar tools.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and records.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods, is required.
- Occasional overtime or weekend shifts may be necessary during peak periods.
