About the role
This is an exciting time for Everest! As we continue our journey, we see significant opportunities ahead of us to expand our reach and we are pleased to create a new position which will focus on establishing and growing Everest’s Aerospace portfolio across Asia. The role holder will actively participate to the development and execution of our Aerospace insurance business based in Singapore which will include driving the achievement of our objectives for profitability growth, service excellence, and producer relations.
Role Purpose
- To participate and help lead the expansion of the Aviation portfolio in Asia Pacific, in line with company plans whilst maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit and delivery of Everest internal plans.
- To refer risks as appropriate that exceed prescribed underwriting authority.
- To assist in developing a marketing plan with the Underwriting team, whilst maintaining and expanding existing broker relationships, and developing new relationships where this is consistent with the objectives set in the Business Plan.
- To represent Everest Insurance International at meetings in the Everest office and during visits to brokers and other customers as required.
- To monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance.
- To liaise with the Claims Manager on claims related issues and participate in account and portfolio reviews.
- To assist in expanding the current product range to allow Everest to compete with the market leaders in the sector including products
- To assist in the preparation of the business plan, statistics and documentation as required.
- To contribute to the regular analysis and review of underwriting practices and procedures
Key Accountabilities
- To work in tandem with the Head of Aviation, Everest International and the Head of Insurance, Asia to achieve the business plan goals
- To participate in the quarterly underwriting peer review process.
- To assist in the improvement of the Company’s management information systems, rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, marketing materials, website and risk management and claims functions.
- To assist with the completion and review of strategic underwriting guidelines & pricing models.
- Underwrite in compliance with Everest prescribed underwriting standards
