As a valuable member of the SCH family, you are an integral part of the care team for rehab and sub-acute patients. You will assist the nursing staff in administrative duties, basic nursing care and infection control practices for an assigned group of patients. You will perform housekeeping duties, which includes ensuring a clean and tidy ward environment, as well as the maintenance of the ward inventory.

• GCE “N” Level
• A recognized Certificate in Health Care (Inpatient)
• Comfortable with shift work (3-rotating shift) and open to deployment within 2 work sites under SingHealth Community Hospitals

Job Description:

• Perform pre-operative assessment for all surgery patients and prepare for surgery.
• Assist patient care activities.
• Perform vital signs monitoring and record measurement.
• Assist to send and fetch patients to and from Operating Theatre.
• Assists with lifting, transferring, positioning and safe transporting of patients.
• Assist in safe keeping of patients’ belongings / clothing.
• Assist to order, coordinate, and collect patient’s snacks from vendor.
• Prepare and serve beverages, snacks and assist to feed Low vision, handicapped or immobile patients.
• Record of intake and output chart.
• Assist nurses with discharge.
• Change bed linen and patient’s clothing.
• Assists in safe keeping of patients’ belongings /clothing.
• Prepare patient for physical examination and/or other procedures.
• Prepare VVIP Bed Linen/ crockery/ utensils and Kimonos.
• Ensures VVIP rooms and toilets are clean.

Housekeeping

• Ensures the patients’ cubicles, recliners, bedside lockers, and furniture clean and tidy at all times.
• Properly dispose of the used disposable paper pulp products by placing it into macerator.
• Keep beverage point table tops and cupboards clean and tidy at all times.
• Clean all the trolleys, work surfaces and equipment like fridge as scheduled.
• Report faulty beds and wheelchairs or furniture to nurse-in-charge.
• Provide housekeeping duties which include the following:
• Cleans and mops spillages or discharges.
• Clear breakages, if any.
• Make beds and maintain tidiness of beds and lockers.
• Assist in the proper storage of linen and other ward supplies as directed.

Patient Confidentiality and Infection Control

• Observe confidentiality of patients’ information and record at all times.
• Performs and practice standard precaution and hand hygiene when in contact with patients/ patient related activities and surroundings.
• Wear proper PPE when performing all functions of decontamination.

Risk Management

• Adhere to workplace safety and health (incident reporting) regulations.
• Attend yearly fire safety awareness talk/ drill exercise and be responsible with emergency procedures.

Portering

• Receive and acknowledge items/supplies from suppliers/MMD.
• Dispatch and collect invoices and mails when required.
• Despatch Blood specimens/ specimens to the respective laboratory
• Escort patient’s relatives to SGH Admission Office or A&E Department for registration when necessary.
• Assist patients to Clinics or Taxi Stand as instructed by the nurses.
• Assist the nurse to transfer patient to SGH
• Assist to send and fetch patients to and from Operating Theatre.

Resource Management

• Assumes the responsibilities for care and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in the proper storage of equipment.
• Report any defective equipment.
• Perform pantry duties and ensure sufficient rations supplies.
• Exercise economy and appropriate use of utilities, resources and supplies
• Serves as a buddy providing supportive information and guidance to newly recruited staff.
• Inform supervisor of any problems or incidents encountered.
• Participate in department and organization activities.
• Perform any other duties as assigned

• Loading and Unloading:

1. Assist in loading and unloading inventory during inbound and outbound shipments, adhering to established safety and operational protocols to minimize risk.
   

• Inventory Control:

1. Monitor and track stock requests from retail partners, proactively fulfilling orders to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure product availability.
2. Conduct regular audits to reconcile stock levels in the inventory management system with actual inventory in both the warehouse and retail locations.
   

• Warehouse Maintenance and Support:

1. Ensure the warehouse is maintained with a clean and organized layout that promotes operational efficiency.
2. Oversee the preparation of products for retail delivery, including specific tasks such as boiling, packaging, and arranging deliveries for items like herbal eggs.
   

• Collaboration and Communication:

1. Work closely with the operations team and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and streamline processes.
2. Communicate effectively with retail partners to address any inventory concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
   

• Additional Responsibilities:

1. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating a flexible approach to support team objectives and operations.
   

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in operations, logistics, or warehousing preferred.

• Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in inventory management systems and basic computer application
