Key Responsibilities

· Assist SSN/SN in the serving of oral medication after certified to be competent in the administrative of medication.

· Carry out nursing procedures, e.g. dressing and naso-gastric feeding as directed by SSN/SN.

· Assist SSN/SN in orientation ol Nursing Aide (NA), Healthcare Assistant (HCA), and Healthcare Attendant on recruitment.

· Assist SSN/SN in the clinical guidance for NA/HCA/HA and participate actively in in service programme.

· Assist in report writing on patients’ condition and progress, and o nursing management of patients.

· Assist SSN/SN in inventory checks and control.

· Be familiar with fire and safety, and code blue procedures of SANH.

· Maintain good housekeeping.

· Be adept at lifting and transferring dependents.

· Keep in confidence any information related to the residents and SANH policies.

· Take on any other responsibilities delegated by the Nursing Administration in line with the needs of SANH.

Training

· Keep abreast with current practice and knowledge by attending in service education and external training.

Qualifications Requirement

• National ITE Certificate in Nursing or its equivalent recognized by Singapore Nursing Board
• At least 2 years’ experience as Enrolled Nurse

Roles & Responsibilities

As the nurse in charge of the ward, you will:

· Lead the nursing team to assess and monitor residents’ clinical needs, propose care plans and have autonomy in managing residents.

· Provide nursing care in compliance with Enhanced Nursing Home Standards (ENHS) and propose improvements where needed.

· Work in multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) with specialist doctors to provide holistic care for our residents

· Participate in doctor’s visits and assist in providing key information on resident’s condition so that appropriate treatment and medication can be given.

· Participate in quality improvement initiatives centred on key domains such as fall prevention, infection control, wound care management etc.

· Perform infection control practices according to current changing standards.

· Be overall responsible for inventory control for the ward.

· Engage next of kin where needed, be it at admission, discharge or when there are changes in MOH directives.

· Be a mentor to the junior nurses.
