About the role

As an Assistant Laboratory Officer / Laboratory Officer, you will contribute towards supporting the development of systems and solutions as part of a larger team, to meet the needs of different companies across the manufacturing and logistics ecosystem in Singapore. You will work with senior engineers and scientists at A*STAR on different projects for research and development of robotics and automation systems. • Provide technical and administrative support, as well as conduct process trials / experiments for both research and industry projects.
• Be an integral member of a metal casting team involving the operation of heavy machinery.
• Conduct sample preparation and data acquisition for material characterization (e.g. microstructure and properties) for process optimization and product function demonstration.
• Operate and maintain laboratory and industrial equipment, as well as the laboratory as a whole.
• Perform administrative duties (e.g. purchasing) as required.
