A bit about the role:

As a member of the APAC Compliance team, you will work closely with Compliance Officers, Product, Operations and other teams to develop and implement testing and monitoring plans for our diverse region. 

Building trust

The purpose of the job is to review and conduct AML/KYC/PEP and Sanction Checks investigating sanction alerts and adverse media regarding clients. Reporting to Associate Director, Compliance, you will:

• Conduct High Risk payment, Relationship Management Agreement (RMA) and transaction monitoring reviews, and investigate potential issues arising

As a Card Compliance & Monitoring Senior Team Lead, you will focus on overseeing compliance with regulatory and industry standards for card payment transactions, ensuring health and performance of transaction processes, and leading initiatives to improve transactional efficiency and regulatory alignment. 

 Here’s how you’ll be contributing:

• Oversee the health of card transactions to ensure seamless customer experience and minimal disruptions.

• Monitor transaction processing metrics such as decline rates, authorization speeds, and transaction volumes.

• Understand compliance requirements with all card network (e.g., Visa, Mastercard,) regulations and scheme requirements.

• Engage with card networks, staying ahead of upcoming changes and requirements, be able to stand the grounds from the issuance perspective;

Overview

Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a Consultant to join our thriving Singapore Practice to deliver high quality, specialist advice to our Asset Management / Funds clients in Singapore and overseas.  The successful candidate will also participate in marketing and business development to ensure that the team maintains a sufficient pipeline of client work, as well as assist with technical research and producing technical materials.

The Singapore Practice gives specialist advice on regulatory requirements to Bovill Newgate clients.  It supports clients through the entire regulatory cycle – obtaining the appropriate licence, putting in place fit-for-purpose, commercially-minded Compliance Frameworks, meeting the expectations of the MAS (and potentially other Regulators) on an ongoing basis, delivering internal audits, and implementing regulatory change projects.

The successful candidate will provide support primarily to our clients that are Fund Management Companies.

Main Responsibilities

Technical qualities

• Recent in-house compliance experience of at least 5 years in a FMC, another professional services company, and / or at the MAS is crucial
• Demonstrate deep understanding of the business issues in the Asset Management sector across a range of asset classes, as well as the key regulatory challenges faced
• A strong technical understanding of the aspects of MAS rules and regulations applying to FMCs, and of the regulatory pipeline is critical
• Knowledge of wider regional or global requirements would be advantageous
• A broad understanding and an appetite to keep learning

Client delivery

• Take personal responsibility for meeting and exceeding the agreed billable hours target, ensuring you have a sufficient pipeline of client work
• Provide advice and support to clients on a wide range of regulatory compliance matters. This may include:

Reporting to the International Trade Manager within Trading & Supply (T&S) Regulation compliance team, the Senior Advisor Trade Controls is the lead Trade Control focal point supporting Trade Controls compliance for the Asia Pacific, for the different Trading & Supply business activities and lines of business (Crude Trading, Products Trading, Gas & Energy Marketing & Trading, Shipping & Supply Operations) as required. The role holder will work together closely with the Trade Control Manager (TCM) , Finance, Operations and Commercial staff in Trading & Supply and key stakeholders outside of T&S.

The Senior Advisor Trade Compliance has global responsibility to:
