Job Description
1. The WSH Officer shall undertake the duties and responsibilities as stipulated in the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
2. The WSH Officer shall act as an advisor to the occupier of the project site about the requirement stipulated in the WSH Act and its subsidiary legislation, WSH (Construction) Regulations and applicable Code of Practices.
3. To implement the Company Safety Management System at the work site / workplace, in exclusively on administration work.
4. To advise the occupier, general manager or any other person in charge of a project site on the measures to be taken in the interest of safety and health of the person employed.
5. To conduct inspection of the project site personally or direct his assistant to inspect the factory on his behalf. To determine whether there is any machinery, plant, equipment or work process or any description of manual labour used in the factory which is of such a nature that is liable to cause bodily injury to any person working or employed in the project site.
6. To manage and assist the site management in investigating into any accident which took place within the worksite / factory and check the supervisor’s report and the action taken to remove the root causes of such accident.
7. To investigate into every fatal accident and dangerous occurrence, which took place within the project site and any industrial disease, contacted in the project site.
8. To discuss the findings of the inspection with the occupier / project manager and follow-up on the remedial actions required.
9. To organise training courses, competition and other activities, which develop and maintain the interest of the person, employed in the factory in establishing a safe and healthy working condition.
10. Take part in any inspection of the project site carried out by the management for the purpose of assessing the efficiency of any measures taken in compliance of the Act.
11. To review existing safety procedure and recommend new safety procedures as and when required.
Job Requirements
1. Workplace Safety & Health Officer
2. Registered ECO with NEA
3. Possess advanced certificate in WSH/Safety Officer/Coordinator certificate
4. Min 5 years’ experience in related field.
