Reporting to the Logistics manager, you play a significant role in IKEA Tampines supply quality, health and safety standards in the goods flow process and customer delivery processes. You will contribute to positioning the IKEA Tampines In-store logistics department as a responsible partner in lowering environmental impact by taking relevant actions that contribute to achieving long-term profitability in a sustainable and environmental way.

Your assignment

• Be the ambassador for the highest possible quality perception for visitors, customers by correct execution of the goods flow processes, keeping customer-perceived availability in focus.

Your profile

We are seeking an individual with civil/structural/architectural technical experience for the position of Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd.  The candidate will work directly with the Project Manager and the subcontractors throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data centre in Asia (The Project).

The candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required, such as submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc, are complete, ready and approved for the CSA subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on managing the CSA subcontractors' field operations and installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.  

It is expected that the candidate will be a very detail-oriented individual with previous experience working as a CSA project engineer on data centre projects and/or other complex technical projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands-on” work coordinating approved design documents and ensuring installed work in the field complies with such documents.  The candidate must have robust Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. The candidate will assist with the QA/QC program throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data centre in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, the candidate will ensure the implementation and compliance with the Quality Assurance System and the scope of work related to electrical items. 

It is expected the candidate will be a very detailed and organized individual with extensive previous experience working as a QA/QC on large, international projects and deep knowledge of electrical systems. There will be a significant amount of “hands-on” work in understanding and implementing the VDC QA/QC systems. The candidate must have excellent leadership and Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. The Cx Eng will report to the Commissioning Manager on a specific site and be accountable for implementing and successfully executing Fortis’ corporate commissioning program.

The CxEng is expected to be a very detailed individual with extensive experience commissioning large projects such as industrial plants, data centres, and pharmaceutical plants. The successful CxEng must have excellent Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with construction workers, Fortis’ client, the Fortis management team, and subcontractors of all tiers. 

Responsibilities Specific to the Role:

• Integrate and work as part of a true “One Team” approach on the project, working closely with Fortis co-workers, subcontractors, the owner, and third-party QC and Cx teams.
• Review all project documents including design drawings, equipment submittal, specifications, and Quality Control plan, and understand project requirements pertaining to start-up and commissioning.
• The owner has selected BIM 360 Field software to track all QA/QC documentation and deficiency logs for the project. The Cx Eng will attend Fortis training on the software and is expected to become proficient with it and its capabilities.
• Review Project “Equipment Tracking Log” which serves as the Inspection and Test Plan for all major MEP equipment.  Oversee and ensure the required inspections and tests are carried out in accordance with the approved plan.
• Assist in developing the detailed L3 (Start-Up) micro schedule, which includes all inspections, energization, start-up, and testing required to reach “L4 Readiness.”
• Review and verify that subcontractor QA/QC documentation is completed in accordance with project requirements and the QA/QC plan. Ensure all previous documentation is complete on predecessor tasks prior to proceeding to the next phases (i.e., verify all L2 documentation is complete prior to starting L3).
• Perform an in-depth review of subcontractor QC forms to verify accuracy and completion. Identify deficiencies and follow up with subcontractors to resolve them.

• Work closely with the CSA Project Manager to lead the structural subcontractor installation drawing approval process between the structural subcontractor, Resident Engineer, Resident Technical Officer, Accredited Checker, and the Local Authority having Jurisdiction, and Assist in the receipt and review of all Structural submissions
• Log and post all structural changes and as-built information on field drawings. Provide this information to the BIM team so it can be incorporated into the final virtual model.
  Ensure all information is current and communicated with the Structural/project team.
• Interface with the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) manager for all client-provided equipment
• Liaise with the structural engineering consultant, supervisory engineers, inspectors and relevant staff
• Implement the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. cloud-based QA/QC program for the structural scope of work
• Ensure that Structural Subcontractors adhere to relevant Quality documentation/records
• Assist in the testing and commissioning of Structural equipment

Reporting to the MEP Construction Manager, the candidate will be accountable for ensuring the Electrical Subcontractors perform their scope of work in the strictest compliance with the contract documents.  This role is focused on managing the Electrical Subcontractor field installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.  

It is expected that the candidate will be a very detailed individual with extensive previous experience working as an electrical site manager or construction manager on data center projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands-on” work coordinating approved design documents and ensuring installed work in the field comply with such documents.  The candidate must have excellent Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. team, subcontractors of all tiers, and vendors and immediately establish trust and confidence in his/her ability. 

Job description:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, Electrical systems interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule.

• Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between Mechanical, Electrical and CSA subcontractors during construction.

• Log and post all Electrical changes and as-built information on field drawings. Provide such information to VDC team so such information can be incorporated into the final virtual model.

• Direct, monitor and control the activities of Electrical Subcontractor.
