Our client is actively searching for a Senior Professional Officer, Electronics Engineering to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:

• Design and teach labs & practice modules.
• Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
• Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry.
• Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research.
• Ensure safety in labs.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

• A good degree with a major in Electronics Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
• Deep technical specialist with 10 to 15 years of working experience in development / R&D or related areas in electronics (Digital / Analog / Consumer / Embedded Systems) would be preferred.
• Experience in following areas is highly desirable.Hands-on experience with both analogues and digital electronics
  Hands-on experience in developing, implementing applications, principles and programming in areas of embedded systems, IoT/IIoT, control systems, etc.
  Design of circuit schematics for layouts and development with both active and passive components, incl. knowledge of PCB routing, fabrication and prevalent IPC standards.
  Hands-on competency in testing and designing electronic circuits and integrating circuits and their systems.
  
• Advantageous to have prior knowledge in areas such as:Microcontroller programming (C/C++, Python, LabView) and firmware development.
  Working experience with IoT, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.
  Working experience with various development boards systems like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel development boards, etc.
  
• Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of industry practices and engineering principles to bring industry perspective to the University
• Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems.
• Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment.
• Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interpret applicable Legal, Singapore Standards, Code of Practice & other requirements and implement & provide directions for compliance.
• Develop, maintain and periodically test out emergency response, Organize & conduct CERT audit and other emergency response relevant drills.
• Liaise with local authorities for all EHS issues, Licence renewal and represent the RC/SICA and other relevant meetings.
• Manage all EHS incident and non-conformance investigations and track corrective and preventive actions to closure.
• Organize risk assessments, site inspections and industrial hygiene and environmental samplings as well as implement or direct risk reduction and control measures.
• Conduct and organize EHS audits, trainings, meetings and promotional programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge.
• Establishing EHS objectives & Targets and its management Programme for continual improvement.
• Contractor management on In-house & SDM (Shutdown Maintenance) activities.
• Should have strong awareness on Safety Case implementation as well as Mitigative Measures for Safety Critical Events (SCE) in Major Hazard Industries (MHI).
• Establish good communication with all level and function within the organization.
• Assist in the adhoc assignment or project assign by management.
• Spearhead continual improvement projects for HSE.
• Work with HSE department in organizing Annual Safety Campaign.
• Liaise with local authorities for all EHS issues, License renewal and represent the RC/SICA/SORT and other relevant meetings.
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Min Diploma in Chemical Engineering
• At least five years of primary experience handling safety responsibilities within HSE department
• At least 3 years of working experience in the oil or petrochemical industry. Preferably experienced in Jurong Island
• Must be a Registered WSH Officer with MOM and Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF
• Good command of English (spoken and written)
• Experience with ISO14001/ SS651(ISO45001) management systems
