The Interior Designer (Commercial) will be responsible for creating and delivering inspirational designs to meet the client's commercial needs. This is a full-time hybrid role located in Mandai with flexibility for some remote work. The Interior Designer (Commercial) will work closely with clients to ensure that the design and build process is completed according to their requirements while ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work from rough sketches and specifications created by the project manager
• Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) software.
• Draft and prepare layout drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, contractors and project managers on projects.
• Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
• Knowledgeable to draw for C&S, Mechanical and Electrical works using CAD
• Manage project site vendors and progress
• Ensure all works meet quality standards and government regulations
• Ensure that the expenditure of the projects are kept within budget
• Attend meetings and liaise with consultants, sub-contractors and any other parties involved in the project
• Inspect off-site fabrication and on-site installation
• Ensure that all the defects have been rectified before the arrangement for pre-site inspection
• Perform any other ad hoc duties

Individual to be involved in:

• Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets, to ensure successful execution of interior design and construction projects.
• Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication to understand project requirements, address concerns, and provide project updates.
• Team Coordination: Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and contractors to coordinate project activities, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to project milestones.
• Budget Management: Monitor project expenses, track costs, and maintain financial records to ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship and design excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proficient in project planning, scheduling, and execution, with a track record of successfully managing interior design and construction projects from initiation to completion.
• Familiarity with architectural and interior design principles, construction methodologies, and building materials, enabling effective coordination with design teams and contractors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and effective communication with clients, project teams, and stakeholders at all project stages.

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as Administrative Assistant, office assistant, or relevant role

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and office management software (ERP etc.)

• Qualifications in secretarial studies will be an advantage.

• High school diploma: BSc/BA in office administration or relevant field is preferred.

• Take-off quantity for tender & on-going projects

Requirements

• 3 Years experience in building/civil in Singapore
• Preferably with experience in handling Commercial / HDB / HIP projects
• Min. Diploma in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering or equivalent
