In EY International Tax and Transaction Services (ITTS), we provide flexible opportunities for you to hone single, dual or multi-disciplinary tax skillsets, be it corporate and international tax advisory, transaction tax advisory, business incentives advisory and/ or transfer pricing.

You will work with our ITTS engagement teams on those tax advisory projects, helping businesses as they go through various aspects of their life or growth cycle – establishment, expansion, transformation, exit, in domestic or international markets, for example:

1. Advise on market entry or exit tax issues and workarounds
2. Review their legal entity structure and/ or transactional/ operating model
3. Help them manage tax risks by looking at their overall tax strategy, governance and tax risk management framework
4. Understand business objectives and their value drivers to help align their tax and operating model, and optimize tax opportunities like research & development grants or deductions, incentives or other forms of government support
5. For mergers and acquisitions, advise on acquisition, disposal, refinancing, restructuring or initial public offering. And to help with negotiations throughout the transaction life cycle, from initial due diligence to post-deal implementation
6. Cross border multi-country projects to help businesses navigate through the evolving and changing global tax landscape, be it tax and transfer pricing restructuring, tax disputes, or BEPS 2.0.

Qualifications and skills

• A degree related to Accountancy / Finance / Tax / Business / Economics / Engineering / Information Technology; a CPA, CA or similar certification
• At least 1 year of relevant experience for experienced associate role, at least 3 years of experience for consultant role
• An open mind and the ability to adapt and perform under pressure
• Problem solving and numerical skills
• Time and project management skills
• Effective and impactful communication skills (written, verbal, relationship building)

• Strong partnership with the reporting finance team on the full spectrum of financial planning and analysis.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, annual financial close and related management reports with high accuracy and timeliness

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated Finance Intern to join our dynamic finance team. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in various financial functions and exposure to real-world financial practice. The role will support the team and will assist in maintaining and developing the function’s capabilities and skills to meet ongoing business growth, needs and plans.

• Work closely with Business and Operations to execute end-to-end reconciliations for accurate financial, regulatory, tax and management reporting purposes.
• Support the Finance team in executing established financial controls to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the group’s financials by performing Month End financial closing activities, including Journal Postings, Account reconciliations, Balance Sheet Substantiation and Analysis and Month End cut off control checks.
• Assist with the documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and create flowcharts to visualize processes.
• Improve efficiency and effectiveness of Finance processes through automation of workflow via python.
• Support the team in any related tasks or projects.

• Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Highly motivated, independent individual who take ownership of tasks assigned
• Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with Python and Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and Word
• Proficiency in SQL is a plus
