Position Overview

Responsible for managing the overall performance of part of the Medicine books group: a group of Asia-based editors within the team as well as the publishing programs they work on. Responsibilities include long-term planning for growth and development of the book program (including Open Access books), developing and executing ideas for new products and product lines within publishing and the management of editors. In addition, responsible for increasing company profitability via acquisitions that are consistent with the Springer’s reputation as a high-quality, high-level professional and academic publisher.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning:

• Assesses overall trends in the medicine, biomedicine and life science research landscape and translates these into Springer product (including new products and new product lines when applicable)
• Prepares long-term planning documents and strategic goals as requested
• Evaluates strategies, strengths and weaknesses of competitors
• Maintains communication with US, European and Asia-based editorial counterparts about specific immediate questions as well as long-term strategy questions.

Management:

• Coordinates the overall direction of the group he or she is responsible for. This includes: frequent contact with the team members via phone, email and in person, general supervises activities, performance monitoring, and representing the group as appropriate in dealing with other departments and branches of Springer Nature
• Responsible for the publication and planning of both titles published and signings in the group.
• Prepares, reviews, and manages the T&E budget for his or her group.
• Works with each acquisitions editor in ensuring signings and in-production goals are met or surpassed.
• Maintains communication with US, European and Asia-based editorial counterparts about specific immediate questions as well as long-term strategy questions. Works with various branches in coordination of the international program
• Assesses training an development needs for staff.

Editorial:

• Next to the duties described above, the Editorial Director can manage a small publication program.
• The ED can pursue an active and efficient acquisitions policy through correspondence, meetings/trips, telephone, consultations with advisors, etc.
• Prepares and executes publishing contracts.
• Maintains and develops a circle of reviewers and advisors and evaluates their judgments.
• Performs related duties as required.

MANAGERIAL OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Manages 4-6 acquisitions editors, some of whom in turn have one or two direct reports of their own. Supervises a total staff of fifteen to eighteen Springer employees (acquisitions editors)

Led by the A*STAR Research Office (RO), SRTTs will be actively managed where the SRTT Programme Directors and research team members will be provided dedicated central support. Responsibilities & Duties

• Support the overall administration, office management and operations of SRTTs, including research admin support (e.g., support Project Investigators (PI) in grant administration and reporting, ethics review, research software support, scientific advisory panel meeting logistics, etc.)
• Provide corporate and business service support to SRTTs, working with Corporate Group (CG) and Space, Infrastructure and Admin (SpIA) Partners and Research Institute (RI) admin teams.

In 12 months:

• Fully competent in developing and articulating a compelling strategy/approach to successfully sell in new initiatives to drive incremental revenue.
• Delivered valued and quantifiable benefit to the client’s business, being viewed as a clear business partner.
• Lead and direct all team members to support in the development of channel plans and creative solutions that are planned holistically with the broader media mix.
• Delivered a 12-18 month roadmap for how the GroupM/Client relationship should evolve, the internal/external requirements and metrics of success.

What your day job looks like:

• Develop compelling campaign solutions including consumer and category insights, right selection of media channel, defining primary and secondary KPIs, budget allocation by channels backed by data and rational.
• Drive strategic and tactical innovation across digital platforms.
• Work with local Mediacom markets to create and sustain great client relationships and excellent delivery
• Briefing, guiding & supervising the Performance teams (execution, reporting & ad-operations teams) on day-to-day basis ensuring operational excellence on the account.
• Evolve use of measurement systems to provide greater insight into ROI of media plans and ensure the team deliver on agreed KPIs.
• Contribution to global/regional media & communications strategy development

What you’ll bring:

• At least 7-9 years of digital and performance marketing experience
• Strong working experience in digital media planning and buying, Integrated media knowledge would be a plus.
• Experience working in client relationship management, preferably within multi-market (APAC / SEA) environment
• Able to challenge and provide intelligent feedback to clients and local markets
• Experience developing communication strategy, in either a marketing or media environment
• Strong organizational, operational and numeracy skills
• Proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, able to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time.
• Passionate about the media and communications industry and keen to stay on top of the ever-evolving media landscape
• Leadership skills in building and leading operation excellence for the team.

Responsibilites:

• Formulate and ensure effective implementation of farm management, regularly update best in class practices and methods, as well as new developments relating to animal health and nutrition, and egg production and quality
• Responsbile for day-to-day management of farm operations and staff, including allocation of work to ensure smooth running of the farm
• Assist in the development of strategic plans and meeting goals for the farm
• Update the farm’s business plan annually, including developing and managing the farm’s annual budget, and increasing profitability
• Prepare necessary reports and updates to Management
• Formulate and implement marketing and sales satrategies to push sale of eggs
• Directs flock management, planning and scheduling to ensure optimal egg production for profit maximization and work flow optimization, as well as management purposes.
• Manages the vaccination progam; select the strain of hens; schedule all flock replacements
• Provides flock performance input and poultry management guidance to the Pullet and Layer Managers
• Closely monitor animal health and productivity, and implements necessary changes to ensure optimal long term economic outcomes
• Ensure compliance with Government regulations and health and safety standards
• Respond to emergencies and solve problems effectively
• Organise maintenance/repair of farm property, equipment and machinery
• Assist with the recruitment and training of operational team, and supervise farm team

Your Profile

• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience as a layer farm manager
• Business, planning and financial management skills
• Human Resource experience, including hiring, supervising, and evaluation of staff
• Experience of working with a Board of Directors and committees
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to manage and supervise a staff team
• Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crises
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
