As we continue to scale, we seek an APAC Finance Controller to join our HQ in Hong Kong or Singapore. This role will play a pivotal part in establishing a robust controllership function to drive breakthrough results.

Position Overview:

The APAC Finance Controller will play a critical role in driving breakthrough results for Shark Ninja’s APAC operations by establishing a strong controllership team across the region. This role will encompass all accounting & operational finance matters across intercompany and operating business units across Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, and other markets as the business expands. This role will encompass end to end contollership across General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Tax compliance, Audit responsibilities, Statutory and Management Reporting. This is a regional role, and will need close coordination with the operational businesses, regional and local FP&A, regional tax & treasury, and group/ local auditors.

Core Responsibilities

• Build and lead a strong accounting & operational finance team, fostering a culture of operational excellence and innovation.
• Oversee AP, AR, Tax Compliance, Cash Management, Statutory & Management Reporting, to ensure high quality & efficient operations.
• Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team, ensuring effective coordination across markets.

System and Process Improvement

• Lead Finance IT system interventions to consolidate ERP systems regionally, enhancing efficiency and scalability.
• Continuously explore and implement IT solutions to automate and streamline core finance processes.

Working Capital Management

• Establish KPUs and drive Working Capital Performance in partnership with senior leadership and commercial teams.
• Streamline data reporting to enable focus on data analysis & insights, contributing to results-driven decision making.

Audit and Financial Compliance

• Manage relationships with group and local auditors, ensuring timely and smooth execution of statutory requirements.
• Deliver accurate and high-quality financial statements to support seamless audits.

Strategic Initiatives

• Represent the accounting & operational finance team in key projects, ensuring right-first time set-up for market expansions and compliance-related projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years financial and cost management in the APAC region, with a preference for experience in FMCG, Retail, or consumer goods.
• Proven leadership in managing and developing high-performing finance teams across diverse geographies.
• Strong knowledge of statutory reporting requirements for listed companies and IFRS. Big 4 audit experience with CPA or equivalent is preferred.
• Solid ERP experience especially Oracle Cloud ERP, and a track record of driving system and process improvements through technology.
• Excellent communication skills, with business proficiency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin)
• Hands-on and adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a strategic mindset and organizational leadership skills.
• Candidates who already have the eligibility to work in Singapore or Hong Kong will be given priority.

Job scope

• Responsible for VIVA’s finance, accounting and office operations
• Responsible for Volunteers and Donors’ management
• Tracking of budgets with variance analysis on a periodic basis
• Responsible for Annual Report and filing of financial statements and annual returns
• Liaise with Auditors and perform accounts review management
• Maintain, monitor, manage and invest cash in the banks .
• Management of petty cash
• Fundraising/Sponsorship /Grant and Subsidy application and administration or management
• Responsible for statutory and regulatory reporting, compliance, filings and applications for permits, licenses and approvals
• Regulate and attend to technical accounting issues for compliance and good governance

Your profile includes:

• ACCA, Degree in Accounting, finance or equivalent
• 5-8 years relevant experience with a well-established accounting firm would be an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed credit & rating review with analysis for new & existing loan portfolios (both local & overseas)
• Detailed loan synopsis to make recommendations for loan acceptance/ rejection
• Perform loan portfolio analysis, industry analysis & market comparison studies
• Work closely with major stakeholders to ensure that day to day risk management issues are handled & addressed appropriately
• Mentor & guide junior credit analysts
• Lead the Credit Department to ensure timely execution of loan contracts, accurate update of contract information into the system,
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering/ Business/ Finance/ Accountancy with at least 8-10 years relevant experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in credit risk analysis
• Business-minded, able to balance between risk & commercial requirements
• Has a personal interest in financial markets & analysis; able to digest financial statements to form an informed analysis of an entity’s financial health
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin
• Proficient in reading and comprehension of English and Mandarin business documents

Position Summary

This role will be tasked with the responsibility for assessing and monitoring the credit risk of the Marine portfolio covering Asia, Indian Subcontinent, Australasia, and managing of the Marine Credit team based in Singapore whenever necessary.

Core duties and responsibilities include:

• Overall assessment of credit risk for assigned geography, timely delivery of high-quality output, highlighting of concerns and risks, questioning rising exposures and understanding the implications, etc.
• Managing credit requests/exposures, reviewing credit lines as market events and company credit policy dictates.
• Regularly engaging with existing and potential clients, which will include dialogue on phone calls, videoconferences, office visits and international travel.

Key Requirements:

• A minimum of five (5) years’ of experience in marine bunker credit; or applicable relevant shipping experience (e.g. ship finance, shipping research, ship brokers).
• Strong knowledge of the shipping markets and the major groups, operators, families etc within. A clear understanding of the commodity markets and the ability to monitor changes.
• Excellent communication skills in English, candidate who is able to understand Mandarin(reading and speaking) would be a huge plus to liaise with Greater China regional team.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Risk Management to establish and optimize the Company's risk management system, improve the quality of credit risk analytics, and ensure the risk management processes in the Company are standardized and systematic in accordance to the company's risk management philosophy;
• Assist the Head of Risk management to effectively implement and monitor the risk management processes for the subsidiary companies, including formulating and optimizing the risk control process, regular communication and early warning mechanism for the subsidiaries, implementing centralized credit risk control for the subsidiary companies. This include supervision, training and guidance for the risk control personnel at each subsidiary companies;
• Responsible for the credit evaluation of the Group’s trading counterparties, and provide recommendations for the credit ratings, credit terms, credit limits and credit risk mitigation measures of the trading counterparties in accordance with the credit framework approved by the Board of Directors, for approval by the Senior Management;
• Responsible for the management of trading counterparties' credit limit and credit insurance, collection of market information, timely deactivation of high risk trading counterparties and reducing redundant credit limit, and strive for favorable credit insurance coverage limit of the company. Responsible for credit management of LC issuing bank and paper broker list;
• Responsible for daily monitoring of the credit status of counterparties, timely reporting abnormal situations to relevant departments and Senior Management, and to report on overdue balances, credit insurance and market developments to the Senior Management on a regular basis;
• Propose effective credit risk mitigation measures when the transaction credit exposure is above the company's risk appetite, and control the credit exposure of all transactions within the risk framework approved by the Company's board of directors and Senior Management;
• Responsible for liaising with relevant departments to carry out comprehensive evaluation of counterparty guarantee received by the company or subsidiary, and the follow-up monitoring work of these guarantees. This includes financing and non-financing guarantees issued by the Company as well;
• Understand legal, compliance and market risk related issues involved in the approval of credit;
• Responsible for maintaining the policy for counterparty guarantee (non-financing), and liaising with the relevant departments to ensure that the policy is up to date;
• Responsible for liaising with the Head office’s legal and risk Control Department (Risk management);
• Responsible for the review and research, reporting and emergency treatment of major risk events of the Company;
• Carry out annual risk review and ad-hoc risk assessment of the subsidiaries;
• Assist in any other work assigned by the Head of Risk Management or the Senior Management of the Company.

Requirements

1. Bachelor in Business/ Economics/ Finance/ other numerical discipline or equivalent;
2. Min. 10 years of relevant experience with 5 years in similar capacity;
3. Strong decision-making skills, especially in area of credit approval process;
4.
