The Credit Maintenance Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for capturing and recording data on credit exposures, obligors and facilities in relevant credit systems in coordination with the Operations - Services team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate and maintain data quality in credit systems, monitor and report credit exposure, escalate deficiencies and recommend delinquent strategies in alignment with overall credit policies.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain data of relations and facilities in credit system, and enter data accurately in various auxiliary credit systems
• Consult with Relationship Manager (RM), Mortgage Sales Specialists to formalize requests for Mortgage credit facilities or raise other problems to the appropriate organizations for their attention
• Detect revealed trends in the process of limited control to assess the needs of the line of credit, operations, or system problems
• Maintain accurate controls ensuring timely follow-ups for loan applications (new acquisition and repricing)
• Prioritize and process the review of incoming credit applications to verify their accuracy and integrity, interpret them so that they are concise, exact, integral, in compliance with the policy, and register them in the database accurately and in a timely manner
• Aid important portfolios and apply professional decisions when interpreting information and results
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in Mortgage underwriting preferred
• Working knowledge of industry standards and practices
• Working knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies
• Demonstrated analytical skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

• Develop recommendations to adjust credit policies by analyzing credit and financial performance utilizing statistical scoring, segmentation, regression and simulation techniques

• Utilize SAS in a UNIX environment to perform risk, financial and data analysis including profiling, sampling, reconciliation, and quality testing
• Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on portfolio performance, emerging trends and areas of opportunity

• Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and possess effective interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills
• Extensive knowledge of SAS or SQL programming and literacy with MS Office software required

• Interface with and support bankers in underwriting requests for commercial credit extensions for new and existing clients with ownership responsibilities for sound credit decisions and compliance with internal procedures/credit risk policy guidelines and standards.
• Prepare a detailed written credit summary of commercial applicants requesting credit by analyzing the business, interpreting the finance need, identifying the strengths and prevailing risk factors and rendering a final credit decision.
• Perform detailed financial analysis on companies, including trend and ratio analysis, and interpret the financial information.
• Perform credit and personal financial statement analysis on individuals, guarantors, and co-borrowers in order to assess repayment capacity based on cash flow statements, tax returns, and statements.
• Perform industry and geographical research and other due diligence as needed.
• Maintain a solid understanding of Citibank products and services - within Small Business/Commercial Banking and the broader organization.
• Maintain compliance with Citibank credit policies/practices and regulatory policies, to ensure business unit is in adherence to the above and receives satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors.
• Assists business unit goals by continuous identification of process improvements and efficiencies that reduce costs and improve customer service levels. Work with management team on prioritization and implementation of approved actions.
