This is a Group role designed to set-up and manage a high performing finance global team, to provide accurate information to the Management team & Board of Directors.
Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, you will take on responsibility for preparing consolidated accounts, cash flows, working capital, management reporting and KPI’s.
o You will be applying your knowledge of IFRS accounting to consolidate and report financial information for the group.
- You will be ensuring and enforcing compliance for accurate reporting from the business units and provide guidance and support on IFRS accounting matters and provide reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- The role requires full understanding of how to run a group function, set up an effective accounting manual, ensure compliant internal controls are adhered to along with responsibility of maintaining a relevant delegation of authority matrix across accounting systems.
- You will be responsible to ensure that data submissions from the business units and regions are submitted accurately each month & for budget periods, including reporting compliance and enforcing accountability of this data.
- You will be responsible for managing the year end group statutory accounts completion and managing the external audit relationship. You will work with external stakeholders such as fund administers & tax advisers, etc. to manage the reporting process.
- You will oversee Treasury, Risk and Internal Audit with a view to building-up this function over time.
- The role requires being the technical in-house expert on a variety of accounting treatments including IFRS 16 and could include ensuring the group manages its debt interest and banking relationships correctly.
- You will be responsible for preparing the financial statements and manage all finance related tasks for the subsidiary in Singapore. You will implement an ERP/accounting system and provide accounting shared services to all the subsidiary companies. The role may also require you to support the Group Chief Financial Officer on acquisitions, due diligence and strategic decision making, so an awareness and understanding of the business model and wider finance function
Responsibilities
Responsible for preparing and delivering consolidated financial reporting including:
o Regular management reporting, operating profit and debt report
o Monthly management, cashflow, working capital, margin analysis, financial and board reporting. o Half-yearly and full-year external reporting and results
o Prepare the monthly/quarterly packages for the Board
o Support the quarterly forecast and budget process
o Statutory audit for the group consolidated accounts
Responsible for the interaction with business unit managers, including:
o Management of all data submissions, ensuring data is timely, complete and accurate
o Understanding the information received, ensuring analysis and explanations are insightful and useful
o Resolution of practical and technical accounting issues including an assessment of impact on the company
Ad hoc internal and external financial reporting, analysis and modelling to analyse scenarios that impact the company
Own and manage the company Accounting Manual, completing periodic updates to ensure document remains fit for purpose.
Contribution to the drafting and implementation of new accounting policies
Qualifications
Qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA with min.15-18 years’ experience in a similar Group function role
Experience with the Big 4 audit firms and accounting under IFRS with an excellent understanding of fundamental key accounting principles
Solid experience working on consolidations for a Group with multi-currencies
Previous experience working with senior management and in a global capacity
Experience of delivering a significant contribution to year end accounts in a MNC
Strong analytical ability and eye for detail and accuracy, with an ability to take a broader view
Technically strong with high level of awareness of IFRS including IFRS 16 lease accounting and UK GAAP, including cash flow reporting, non-GAAP measures, impairment assessment etc
Ability to develop solutions to complex problems and identify and champion delivery of a process of continuous improvement.
Ability to quickly understand finance and systems processes, drive the new accounting system implementation and take the lead on delivery of key projects
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in both head office and the global business units and operating divisions

Candidate with experience in the power and manufacturing sector is preferred
