The Intern (Regulatory Compliance & Compliance Testing) will be responsible for ensuring the bank adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and regulatory standards. This role involves conducting compliance testing, identifying risks, and providing regulatory analyses to ensure that the bank complies with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of banking regulations, legal frameworks, and compliance testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Testing

• Develop and execute compliance testing plans to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal bank standard, policies, and processes.
• Identify gaps and deficiencies in processes and recommend corrective actions.
• Document findings and prepare detailed reports for management.
• Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and ensure compliance with agreed timelines.

2. Regulatory Compliance

• Assist in the implementation of a comprehensive compliance-matrix to ensure bank wide compliance with all laws and regulations, including gap analyses of business units’ controls.
• Advise on legal and regulatory matters affecting the bank’s operations.
• Assist in handling regulatory inquiries, audits, and investigations.
• Stay updated on relevant banking laws, regulations, and industry practices.

3. Collaboration and Training

• Work closely with internal departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support the Compliance Manager in developing and updating policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Student in a tertiary institution undertaking a degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Interest in banking field, regulatory compliance.
• Keen to explore digital assets such as blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) under the Risk Management Department.
• Assist the TRM team in consolidating key information and analyzing validity of information used to conduct technology risk assessments from various work stream.
• Assist in collecting and assisting with correlation of data for analysis used for Technology Key Risk Indicators (KRI).
• Assist in documenting and updating the Technology Risk Register on a periodic basis.
