As Manager, Business Strategy, the incumbent is expected to study market trends, conditions, regulations, customers to inform Company’s decisions on business strategies. Based on market research, the incumbent shall provide key insights and recommendations to leverage opportunities and coordinate strategies aimed at assisting the company in reaching its goals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Market Intelligence

Perform market research to identify areas of interest, iterate on key findings and communicate market insights.
Evaluate key policy and industry shifts in existing and new business space to identify emerging trends, opportunities, threats and distil relevant implications to the company.
Analyse competitors’ activities to determine the best strategies for increasing market share or generating new business opportunities.
Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas and business partnerships.

Business Strategies

Develop long term business strategies and priorities in pursuing new opportunities in growth areas, new and existing markets.
Identify areas of capability building to strengthen YRI’s current and future competitive advantages.
Working with management to develop policies, strategies, and plans to ensure that business objectives are achieved.

Annual Business Planning

Support Business Group’s annual business planning process

Requirements

Good tertiary education.

- A degree in Business or Economics is preferred.
- Possess at least 3 years of working experience.
- Strong business writing and business reasoning
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently.

You will be required to perform the following:

• Overall, in-charge of the project with the support of other team members (Conference, logistics, admin, sales, marketing) to ensure the success of the event.
• Drive a sound business model and manage the budget for each edition of the event and to ensure expenditure is managed efficiently.
• Work with client to establish standing operating processes (SOP) for execution of event e.g., approval process, reporting requirements, schedule of meetings etc.
• Work with client to conceptualize, design and execute curated zones for the event
• Budget management will include:
• Propose a detailed financial budget and obtain approval from the client.
• Monitor revenue and expense to ensure that the overall event is performing well financially.
• Work with the Finance department on invoicing and account reconciliation matters for both pre-and post-event.
• Ensure that all expenses processed by both core and supporting functions/departments are in compliance with SOP.
• Coordinating the various committee meetings with client/stakeholders and attending meetings with the client/stakeholders on all progress updates of works done to the lead-up of each edition.
• Liaising with 3rd party contractors working e.g., venue provider, exhibition stand builder, etc, or any other providers contracted by client directly, to drive the overall success of the event.
• Incorporating the sustainability aspects of organising events and actively propose areas on how carbon footprint can be reduced.
• Should there is any direct or indirect issues e.g., venue or event production-related, during the contractual period, you shall be responsible to rectify these issues.
• Conduct and record meetings with client as and when required.
• Client liaison and servicing.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma holder.
• Preferably with 3 years of experience in related field, applicants with no experience may apply too.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Possess experience in organising a virtual and/or hybrid event preferred.

• Manage the Frontline staff in the assigned terminal
• Provide leadership, motivate and lead the staff in the terminal
• Work closely with HR and Operations Executive on recruitment needs
• Drive sales and work on sales initiatives to maximize sales potential and achieve sales targets
• Monitor, discipline and counsel staff on their sales performances and work conduct/behaviour

• Responsible for the strict adherence to all established operational policies and procedures

1. Establish policies and procedures relating to operation and ensure its adherence by all frontline staff
2. Work closely with security team on STEB & LAGS regulations

• Work closely with Marketing team to plan promotion
• Work closely with Finance team to ensure proper handling cash in store

Requirement:

• 8 years of related work experience in retail operations, preferably in a FMCG or retail environment
