MISSION

Responsibilities

Supporting Student Learning as a Teacher

• Serve daily as a pastoral advisor, which involves responsibility for the holistic academic and social-emotional well-being of the advisory students, and supporting Service and CAS processes
• Develop strong, positive relationships with students in your Advisory group, creating a supportive and inclusive environment
• Collaborate with Heads of Grade to adapt the Advisory curriculum to meet the needs of the advisory students
• Deliver an impactful advisory curriculum that addresses both the academic and the well-being needs of students and is in alignment with the school's scope and sequence, the CASEL framework, and academic lab expectations
• Serve as the primary point of communication for students, parents, and teachers regarding aspects of student progress and concerns
• Address, resolve, and document academic and behavioral concerns, working closely with parents and Heads of Grade
• Produce required documentation, such as log entries, term reports, wellbeing platforms, and goal setting, and contribute to documentation systems
• Liaise with various stakeholders within the division to promote student success both academically and personally

MISSIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach English in middle school and high school (including the LLCE specialization) in line with French curriculum
• And/or teach English literature in the British International Section (Cambridge/Ministère Education Nationale partnership) and possibly BFI
• Design and implement learning or teaching situations based on French programs and standards
• Convey subject knowledge
• Design and implement assessment methods of student’s learnings, in liaison with other teachers or professional partners
• Ensure students acquire skills including capacities, attitudes and procedural knowledge
• Be an expert in the conduct of a class and foster the interest and participation of students
• Provide personalised follow-up of students in relation with families and participate in their orientation project
• Contribute to the school’s operation and to teamwork
• Adapt his/her teaching to the diversity of students by providing each of them with the necessary support, and measure their achievements
• Use information and communication technologies to support learnings
• Exercise of specific functions (coordination, form teacher, etc.)

SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

• English Native speaker or CEFR C1 level minimum
• Recognised qualification in Teaching (Master of Education, PGCE, PGDE, CAPES)
• Deep understanding of the subject and the curriculum
• Experience in teaching in Middle and High school is preferable and in particular on a terminal cycle
• Knowledge of the French curriculum is an advantage
• Organisational and interpersonal skills
• Responsiveness and availability
• Adaptability and benevolence
• Very good writing and speaking skills
• Strong teamwork skills and committed to making projects successful
• Experience as a Form teacher and coordination for the students' career orientation plan would be strong benefit

Job Responsibilities

• Teach at least 6 classes, with a maximum of up to 8 per week, including covering classes for colleagues when needed.
• Conduct engaging and enriching English lessons, with structured materials written by our in-house Curriculum experts.
• Foster a safe and positive learning environment, embodying a growth mindset to guide and nurture students.
• Meticulously mark and return students’ work on time. Keep track of their performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
• Build rapport with parents and update them on their child’s academic and personal progress.
• Attend Professional Development Meetings weekly.

Job Requirements

• A Degree from a reputable university, preferably in related fields of Law, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or Communications.
• Excellent academic track record, particularly in English and General Paper (GP).
• Passionate about teaching English and writing to primary and secondary school students - prior experience is preferred, but not required.
• Willing to develop skills and implement strategies to teach and support students of differing levels and competencies.
• Willing to adopt TWC's ethos and pedagogy.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills to effectively engage all stakeholders.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Able to teach and mark effectively, managing a workload of up to 6-8 classes weekly.
• Able to work 3 days a week, including 1 weekend - remuneration will be commensurate with experience and number of classes contracted for.
