Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and analyze technology trends and emerging issues that could impact infrastructure service delivery, and proactively recommend alternative solutions or corrective actions when necessary.
- Design, plan, and implement hybrid cloud infrastructure, integrating operational and security tools to meet both operational and security requirements.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance optimization for infrastructure, introducing improvements and enhancements to existing systems and processes.
- Develop infrastructure architecture blueprints and roadmaps, planning the integration of new systems into the existing infrastructure.
- Lead technical project implementations, ensuring the effective deployment of infrastructure solutions, and overseeing the transformation of operational processes to meet evolving business needs and architecture changes.
- Collaborate with project teams, users, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and IT challenges, offering technical solutions and design best practices. Solutions range from straightforward hardware proposals (e.g., physical servers with GPU) to complex, multi-tiered virtualization and hybrid cloud solutions, considering regulatory, security, cost, and sustainability factors.
- Plan and manage procurement schedules, develop technical specifications, and oversee procurement activities to ensure timely acquisition of services, hardware, and software.
- Hands-on technical expertise for proof-of-concept setups and the eventual integration and deployment of new technologies.
- Manage infrastructure upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and replacements of components or tools reaching end-of-life (EOL) or end-of-service (EOS).
Requirements:
- A relevant university degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience in infrastructure management.
- 8+ years of experience as an infrastructure architect and/or technical lead, involved in solution development and infrastructure design and deployment.
- 4+ years of experience leading IT infrastructure projects with contract values of at least S$5 million.
- Deep knowledge of operational and security frameworks (e.g., ITIL, ISO27001) and best practices.
- Expertise in a variety of technologies, including cloud, network, compute, storage, container management platforms, security tools, observability platforms, automation tools, and cloud computing models and services.
- Solid technical experience in one or more of the following:Linux/Windows operating system administration
Security, automation, and operational tools for systems, platforms, and databases
VMware, public cloud administration, and containerization
ITSM and monitoring tools
- Strong understanding of IT services, processes, and governance.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize technologies and define the technology stack according to business needs.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative infrastructure designs that align with business goals.
- Capable of preparing and delivering presentations, proposals, and technical specifications independently.
- Confident in presenting solution proposals and providing project updates to stakeholders at various levels.
