Job Description
A full-time Research Assistant position in the team led by Assistant Professor Chua Wei Ling is available at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, National University of Singapore. The selected candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator in the research domains of (i) nursing staffing and patient outcomes and (ii) post-sepsis syndrome.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to further experience in research with a view to a Master’s and/or PhD with the Principal Investigator.
Appointment will be made on a 12-month contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension, depending on project commitments and candidate’s career objectives.
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
- Oversee the administration and general management of the research projects, including support with grant and ethics application and liaise with relevant stakeholders in preparing research agreements.
- Conduct research fieldwork, including recruiting and managing participants, data collection, data analysis.
- Assist in preparing reports and meeting materials for stakeholders.
- Work on other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
The applicant should:
- have a Degree in nursing, health-related, social-science disciplines; preferably with some experiences in research;
- be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
- have excellent project management, organisation, coordination, and problem-solving skills;
- have excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills in English;
- be a good team player with a strong sense of responsibility;
- be highly motivated individual with capacity to work independently;
- Proficiency in Mandarin required as the position will require working with Chinese-speaking participants
- Experience in planning, managing, and implementing healthcare-related research projects will be an added advantage;
- Proficiency in data analysis applications (e.g. SPSS, Jamovi, Stata, R & etc) will be an added advantage.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in research and project management.
