The Role

Pacific Life Re Asia Business Unit (BU) comprises of two branches (Singapore and Korea) and two representatives offices (Japan and China) serving markets across Asia.

The Senior Financial Accountant prepares the quarterly operational expenses (OPEX) reports, supporting annual OPEX planning, Project Unify planning system implementation and Group Reporting and Technical Accounting activities.

This role is a maternity leave cover, reports to Manager Finance Asia and dotted line reporting to the AVP, FP&A, Asia. Key stakeholders are Asia Finance team, Project Unify (Financial Reporting and FP&A work stream) and Divisional Finance.

Duties:

1. Quarterly Management Information (MI) Reporting:

a. Manage the MI Reporting pack processes to ensure that the pack is produced accurately and on a timely basis

b. Produce Quarterly Operational Expenses (OPEX) reports

2. Assist in Annual OPEX Plan process

3. Assist in Project Unify FP&A Expense Planning Management (EPM) UAT testing

4. Assist in Alternative Reinsurance Solutions Treaty Review and Technical Accounting memo activities

5. Ad hoc activities including Project Unify/Blue Financial Reporting workstream tasks

Qualifications & Experience

– Possess a Degree in Accountancy or equivalent

– Newly qualified Professional Accounting qualification

– 3 years + relevant Accounting and Finance working experience

• Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers with Procurement Manager/ Category Manager to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate and select new suppliers and products to expand or improve the category's offerings.
• Creating and managing purchase orders to initiate the procurement process and track the delivery of goods and services.
• Optimize inventory levels to balance supply and demand while minimizing carrying costs.
• Monitor and manage inventory turnover, stockouts, and excess inventory issues.
• Conduct price and market analysis to stay competitive and maximize revenue.
• Work closely with other departments, such as sales, marketing, finance, QA and operations, to ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and drive sales growth.
• Ensure that products within the category meet quality and safety standards.
• Stay up to date with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
• Provide regular reports and updates to immediate superior regarding the category's performance and strategies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Business / Supply Chain or related disciplines
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience in procurement/purchasing for Food/Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry will be preferred
• Well verse in Microsoft office application
• Negotiations skills

• Working hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours
• Salary: Up to S$3,800 (Salary will commensurate according to experience & qualifications).
