RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Head of Allied Health, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Drive client care and service excellence in Allied Health
- Oversee the establishment and updating of practice guidelines for the respective AHP disciplines, in line with emerging evidence-based trends and industry best practices. This includes the development and implementation of new services, assessment techniques and intervention strategies.
- Design quality improvement projects to improve client care and clinical services at the organisation and/or department level
- Guide the holistic management of client care and complex cases taking into consideration multi-disciplinary perspectives
Maintain professional, legal and ethical standards
- Develop and upkeep implementation frameworks for professional standards, legal and ethical practices
- Drive the continued development of clinical practice through review of guidelines and protocols, as well as internal quality and service audits.
- Provide inputs in formulating risk, emergency response and crisis management plans
- Represent the organization at relevant external meetings, conferences, and outreach events to foster collaborations and promote services.
People Development
- Drive the professional development of AHPs and non-AHP staff in the AHP departments to meet regulatory and professional requirements.
- Lead professional development initiatives and programmes across all AHP disciplines, including any required cross-training for care staff
- Guide supervisors to identify knowledge gaps and training needs of staff
- Facilitate staff orientation and training, to ensure staff are well-equipped to meet operational and client needs
Uplift professional practice
- Develop and implement strategies for talent management
- Lead the development of departmental research, data management and analytics frameworks
- Identify the needs of the individual client and implement the appropriate interventions/programmes
- Evaluate the intervention with appropriate outcome measures
- Work closely with other departments/teams in delivering holistic multi-disciplinary are to clients
Administration
- Ensure all equipment required are maintained by regular servicing, replacing / repairing when deemed necessary.
- Ensure there is proper inventory of all service contracts, equipment and fixture with regular updating and renewal when necessary.
- Plan for the work of the Allied Health Departments, including ensuring sufficient manpower resources to meet workload are recruited or purchased through service contracts in a timely manner.
- Ensure that administration duties relevant to the work of the AHP departments (e.g. preparation and submission of required reports, updating of policies and work procedures, managing staffing schedules and leave approvals) are performed with quality and in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognised Degree/Master in relevant field
- Registration with relevant professional licensing or accreditation board
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant managerial experience.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Highly motivated, self-driven and able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Able to work well with various levels of staff

Working Hours
44 hours per week (normal office hours):
8.00am to 5.15pm (Monday - Friday, 45 minutes lunch break inclusive)
or
8.30am to 5.45pm (Monday Friday, 45 minutes lunch break inclusive)
