JOB SUMMARY

The Programme for Research in Epidemic Preparedness and REsponse (PREPARE) is a national programme that was set up by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to support and strengthen Singapore’s key essential research capabilities, translational platforms, and expertise to develop tools, methods and products that can be tapped on to detect, respond to, and contain future infectious disease threats.

You will lead and oversee the development and execution of immunogenicity and challenge animal models for viral pathogens within the ABSL3 or ABSL2 setting as part of the PREPARE Vaccine & Therapeutics co-op. This co-op aims to develop pathogen-agnostic technologies and platforms to enable rapid therapeutic or vaccine development to enhance Singapore’s capabilities and access to vaccines during future epidemics. You will be responsible for experimental design, evaluation and documentation of the results and coordination with our host BSL3 laboratory which is located at NTU LKC School of Medicine.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIFIC

1. Development and execution of animal challenge experiments for viral pathogens with pandemic potential within the ABSL3 at LKC Experimental Medicine Building (NTU) and immunogenicity experiments for vaccine platforms within the ABSL2 at LKC Clinical Sciences Building (Novena)
2. Assist with preparation and submission of IACUC protocols
3. Work with the PREPARE Laboratory head to manage PREPARE projects and train/supervise attached staff.

• Work alongside the SLT to develop realistic, yet challenging goals for well-being and counselling as part of the Elementary School Improvement Plan (ESIP)

Curriculum and Pedagogy

• Provide professional development and opportunities for teachers to engage in professional dialogue around supporting student well-being, social and emotional development and needs
• Meet and work collaboratively with grade level teams during the planning of units of work that focus on well-being, social and emotional development and support in the delivery of this.

Assessment and Reporting

Collaboration and Relationship Management

• Work collaboratively with - staff in the Counselling and Student Success Departments to discuss caseloads and the programmes provided to support students
• Support Teaching Assistants to develop an improved knowledge and understanding of student best practice in well-being and how to support the social and emotional development of students
• Lead, or work alongside teachers through induction, INSET, planning meetings and workshops to provide knowledge and understanding of their role in promoting student well-being and their social and emotional development
• Use classroom visits and observations throughout the school day to support teachers as they assess the learning, emotional and behavioural needs of students
• Support transitions within the school and liaise with others involved in this process e.g. Admissions, High School Counsellor and High School VP Well-being

Communication
