As the Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance and serving as the primary point of contact for anti-money laundering (AML) matters within LMAX Digital Broker Singapore. You will require an in depth knowledge of the Payments Services Act (PSA) and its application to firms offering DPT services to institutional clients. You will work closely with senior management, business units, and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and the implementation of effective AML controls and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the point of contact for MAS, the local regulator and facilitate regulatory filings in accordance with local laws; and also, the point of contact for the day-to-day implementation and execution of Compliance policies related to the Singapore region. You will also work in cooperation with the Group compliance team.
- AML Program Management: Develop, implement, and maintain an effective AML program in accordance with MAS regulations and international standards. This includes conducting customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting (SAR).
- Money Laundering Reporting: Serve as the designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of suspicious transactions to the relevant authorities. Ensure that SARs are prepared and filed in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify and assess AML and financial crime risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, and other illicit activities.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver AML training programs to educate employees on their AML obligations and the importance of compliance. Promote a culture of compliance and integrity throughout the organization.
- Monitoring and Surveillance: Implement and maintain robust monitoring and surveillance systems to detect and prevent potential AML breaches across Fiat and Crypto. Conduct investigations into suspicious activities and escalate findings as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CFCS) in AML compliance is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a Compliance and AML position for a Financial Services/Crypto Asset firm.
- Sound knowledge of Singapore MAS Payment services Act.
- Proven track record in managing regulatory compliance matters and dealing with MAS.
- Strong understanding of AML risk management principles, transaction monitoring techniques, and SAR reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and compliance software tools.
