If successfully selected, you will be seconded to MOE primary school located in Geylang East.

Contract Period: from 1 January 2025 to 30 November 2025

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Mondays to Fridays: 8:00am to 1:30pm, not inclusive of lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

The service required are set out as follows :

• Prepare Science teaching & learning resources based on:

1. Workbook requirements
2. Teaching needs e.g. pull out plant model display when the P3s are learning about plants to be showcased in the lab

• Maintain cleanliness of the two labs and the equipment
• Arrange for feeding of the fish in the aquaponics system (both indoor and outdoor), pond at eco-garden
• Stock-take of equipment at least twice a year
• Assist in the inventory taking when the external audit asset team comes by
• Assist teachers in the lab during lab sessions if required
• Assist teachers in innovative learning lab for Science-related activities whenever possible including setting up of projector to play video in canteen during recess time
• Assist teachers in preparation of activities for Environmental and Science club
• Look into the display and loaning of Science books to the students on an ad-hoc basis, either in lab or in the canteen
• Help to assist in recess activities during Science department events such as integrated learning week
• Help to assist during Science practical test days, will be required to work longer on some days in Term 2 to prepare and to assist during the days. (Up till 2:30pm, 2 – 3 days prior and after the practical test days)

Must be confident in handling live specimens e.g. changing and clean of live stick insect tanks / changing leaves stalks for live caterpillars.

The personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Min GCE ‘O’ or ‘A’ Level
• Have experience working in similar work environment (prior working experience in a school will be an added advantage)

• Ensure regular maintenance and carry out daily safety check of the assigned crane, including filling up the crane logbook and lifting logbook as per Ministry of Manpower guidelines.

The service required are set out as follows :

• Work closely with teachers to provide support in preparation of lessons:

1. Help to replenish ingredients
2. Prepare the ingredient for the classes ie cutting of chicken/fish and separate the ingredients into specified portions according to class size.
3. Clean teachers’centre tables.
4. Assist students with cookers/ovens/grill/blenders/steamers, mop spills, etc.

• General cleaning of kitchens including cleaning table tops, sinks, cookers, sweeping and mopping of the floor and emptying dustbins.
• General maintenance of the cookers, ovens, grills, microwave ovens, small kitchen appliances such as blenders, cake mixer, food processors, eclectic steamers, etc, and washing machine.
• Maintain kitchen and food hygiene including proper food handling and storage, clear fridges of unwanted/spoiled foods and sanitise fridge.
• Maintain kitchen safety (handling electrical appliances and keep sharp objects in safe location)
• Check all cutleries and kitchen equipment are in place and are accounted for.
• Ensure that all taps, electric points and gas main are turned off if not in use.
• Replenish the perishables and dry goods. Check that ingredients have not expired.
• Organise equipment in kitchens and store room. Neaten up and replace any posters or labels where required.
• Assist teacher in charge with stocktake of assets.

The personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• At least 1 years of working experience in school kitchen or similar working environment.
• At least GCE N Level certification
• Other relevant certification such as Nitec and Higher Nitec related to culinary and/food science
• Proficient in English as medium of verbal and written communication
• Able to converse in 1 other language
• Able to handle kitchen equipment such as ovens, cookers, blenders, steamers and etc
• Able to use MS Word and Excel confidently
• Able to send emails to suppliers with teacher in charge supervision
