Job Description

The Human Development Department at the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences, A*STAR, is looking for a senior bioinformatician with a keen interest in the gut microbiome and its impact on human health. The ideal candidate will have the unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment. This role offers exclusive access to a rich array of clinical and omics data (specifically metagenomics and metabolomics data), enabling the candidate to explore and contribute to our understanding of the gut microbiome's role in promoting the health of women and children. We are seeking an individual who is not only experienced in bioinformatics but also passionate about translating complex data into meaningful insights for health and well-being.

Job Responsibilities

• Be responsible for metagenomics and other omics data processing and quality control.
• Perform integrative analysis on omics datasets, including but not limited to metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics.
• Setup bioinformatics tools/workflow, and develop applications with R Shiny, Python Dash or Matlab.
• Analyze data, interpret results and plan next step.
• Update project and prepare summary report regularly.
• Perform general data and server housekeeping.

Job Requirements

• A degree or masters in Computational Biology/Computer Science/Applied Mathematics/Applied Statistics.
• Strong analytical and programming skills (Python, R, Perl, or Matlab, UNIX environment).
• Experience with modeling, machine learning, and deep learning.
• Experience with metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, and metabolomics will be a plus.
• Strong project management and communication skill

Job Description

• Officer-In-Charge of the employee life cycle processes for assigned portfolio - recruitment, onboarding, orientation & training logistics and record keeping through exit interview;

Responsibilities

• Managing Foundation data.
