Job Description

As the Senior Software Engineering Manager for Private Equity & Real Estate Technology, you will lead a dynamic team of full-stack engineers in designing, building, deploying, testing, and supporting applications and related services hosted on AWS. Collaborating with business stakeholders, you will drive business value while ensuring the delivery of high-quality code. You’ll tackle a variety of problems from scaling out infrastructure to promoting business efficiency through automating business processes. You’ll devise elegant solutions to Blackstone's most important problems and put your own best ideas to work in an entrepreneurial environment inside one of the world's most successful companies.

Our internal applications leverage a highly scalable microservices architecture deployed on cloud-hosted containerized environment. Key technologies in our stack include NextJS/React, FastAPI, Python, C#, Terraform, SQL, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Function, AWS DynamoDB, AWS S3, CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins), and data warehouse solutions like Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of full-stack engineers, providing hands-on guidance and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Architecture and Development: Collaborate with your team to design, build, and maintain applications using relevant technologies within our stack. Evolve and adopt technologies to help deliver business value in a secure, reliable, and scalable manner.

• Cloud Expertise: Leverage your expertise in AWS services such as AWS Lambda, AWS Step Function, AWS DynamoDB, AWS S3, and Terraform to build and maintain scalable and resilient cloud-based solutions.

• Data Warehousing: Work with data engineering teams to interface with data warehouse solutions like Snowflake for data analytics and reporting.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams both internally and externally, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

• Team Development: Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, fostering their professional growth and skill development.

Qualifications:                        

• 15+ years of senior software engineering experience, showcasing technical expertise, leadership, strategic vision, and successful project and team management.

• Proven expertise in software engineering with a strong command of Fast API, Python, C#, SQL, and AWS services.

• Deep understanding of data warehouse solutions, especially Snowflake, is a plus.

• Proficiency in CI/CD tooling, particularly Jenkins, to enable efficient software development pipelines.

• Previous experience with microservices architecture and serverless design principles.

• Demonstrated exceptional leadership and communication skills, particularly in leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

• Proven ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders to drive technology strategy and align it with organizational goals.

• A self-starting, entrepreneurial attitude with a proven ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and industry trends.

The Senior Executive, Information Management (IM) will work with the IM team to build and maintain an effective database management system, serving as a foundation for supporting alumni and donor engagement initiatives across NTU. Other key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring the success rate of marketing campaigns.

• Delivering accurate and meaningful data to support comprehensive analyses and research efforts.

• Assisting in the maintenance of systems and software under the purview of both UAO and the Office of Alumni Engagement.

Requirements:

Experienced working with database management systems or databases. Proficiency in Chinese is essential as the candidate is expected to review database records in Chinese. Possess good administrative and communication skills.   

Experience in using fundraising software and an advance user of Microsoft applications. Possess strong interpersonal, managerial and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders of all levels. Technically savvy and ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Applicants should have at least a Diploma in Information Technology (or equivalent certification in a related domain), with a minimum of two years’ working experience in customer service, and two years of relevant and related working experience in a database-related role.
