Job Title: Chemist (Environmental)

1. Perform lab test on environmental samples and reporting of test data
2. Supervise junior analysts in routine sample analysis to ensure accurate and reliable analytical results

4. To prepare and upkeep quality system as per SAC-Singlas requirement

Job Description:
-To perform sensory evaluation, chemical and microbiological analysis on raw materials and products.
-To perform routine environmental hygiene tests
-Understand sampling plan and methods of sampling and carry out raw materials and products sampling according to sampling plan.
-Preparation of laboratory culture media and reagents.
-Preparation of samples upon request by customers and/or external lab testing purpose.
-To tabulate and record all testing results and data into the provided inspection form and master list.
-Maintain good housekeeping of the laboratory and equipment.
-Carry out routine inventory checks on laboratory consumables, media and reagents.
-To inform HOD on lab inventory status to purchase necessary items and equipment for analysis.
-Report to HOD if any non-conformance found on raw materials and products.
-To keep retained raw material and product samples according to production date for future reference in case any quality dispute from customers.
-To file analysis records, external lab test reports and other documents in a timely manner..
-To assist HOD on other related duties.
-For ‘Senior QC Lab Tech’, he/she will be the leader to assist and guide other lab technicians.

Responsibilities

Experiment Preparation:

• Assist in the preparation of electrochemical cells, including assembling electrodes and configuring experimental setups.
• Prepare and analyze electrolytes and other chemical solutions.
• Electrochemical Testing:
  Conduct electrochemical experiments under the guidance of senior researchers.
  Monitor and record data during experiments, ensuring accuracy and precision.
• Instrument Operation and Maintenance:
  Operate and maintain electrochemical instrumentation, such as potentiostats, galvanostats, and impedance analyzers.
  Troubleshoot and address minor technical issues with equipment.
  Upkeep of laboratory inventory, procurement, and instrument calibration.

  Summarize and report findings, contribute to research publications and present results within technical and other teams.
• Quality Control:
  Implement quality control measures and upkeep of the lab to ensure reliability of experimental data.
  Document and report any deviations from established procedures.
• Safety Compliance:
  Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines specific to electrochemical experimentation.
  Participate in safety training and adhere to laboratory safety standards.
• Collaboration and Communication:

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma holder
• Ideally Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience, particularly in electrochemistry and analytical chemistry is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrochemical techniques and instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and team working abilities.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and experimental protocols.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures in a laboratory setting.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiar with a variety of electrochemical techniques, such as cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and UV-vis Spectroscopy.
