As a Gas Chromatography lab application engineer, you would be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing gas chromatography systems. Your work would involve ensuring the proper functioning of gas chromatography instruments, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support.

Responsibilities:

• To provide active support to gas chromatography tuning, preparation of GC operation data and report.
• Gas chromatography tuning involves columns installation, operation data collection, and handling of gas and liquid cylinders.
• Ability to troubleshoot gas chromatography issues.
• Support the manager to ensure the quality of the GC produced and to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the lab.

Requirements:

• Good working knowledge in the Gas Chromatography concept.

[Your Role As Our Executive Assistant]

You’ll be a key team player in supporting our Senior Leadership team in a wide spectrum of business functions such as Facilities Management, IT Operations Management & HR Operations:

Facilities Management

• Ensure that our classrooms are in operable conditions based on defined SOPs: You’re in charge of maintaining a clean & conducive environment for our students to learn & team members to work in!
• Assist in project & contractor management: You’ll be actively involved in liaising with different contractors on renovation, repair & maintenance work.
• Implement & oversee office logistics management: As our very own Marie Kondo, you’ll be in charge of proposing & documenting a system that organises our logistics neatly & logically. The key components of this system will include:Categorisation guidelines based on use case & weight
  Maintenance schedule for all team members
  Weekly maintenance schedule for yourself (including cleaning areas seldom accessed by cleaners & consolidating used packaging & arranging for removal)
  Ideas on how we can use more space-efficient, aesthetic organisational furniture (e.g. plastic containers, boxes, drawers, etc.)

• Assist in office lease management: At this stage of our organisational growth, we’re constantly looking for bigger spaces that can accommodate our growing number of team members & students. You’ll be responsible for researching suitable office/classroom spaces, space planning & stakeholder management.
• Oversee food catering & procurement-related matters (local/overseas): You’ll be actively involved in sourcing the best deals (food & goods) to feed our team members during the weekends & school holidays, and secure the most memorable Children’s Day gifts & Chinese New Year red packets for our community.

IT Operations Management

• Assist in device deployment & patching: From our team members’ Macbooks to network equipment & CCTVs in our offices & classrooms, you’ll be involved in setting up & maintaining our IT equipment & infrastructure based on our in-house guides.
• Assist in backup management: You’ll be responsible for ensuring our network infrastructure & servers are consistently backed up, which will help us restore records effectively if needed.

Community Management

Join the dynamic team at SUSS and contribute to the advancement of Virtual Lab technology in the educational sector. As a Senior Technologist, your primary focus will be to develop, manage, and innovate in Virtual Lab environments. This role involves creating virtual simulations and experiments for educational purposes and integrating various technologies to enhance the learning experience.

Your focus will extend beyond just AI applications, encompassing a broader range of virtual lab technologies. This includes designing interactive and immersive lab simulations, developing tools for remote experimentation, and ensuring a seamless integration of these virtual labs into the educational curriculum.

Role’s Responsibilities:

Virtual Lab Development:

• Server Management & Service Integration: Work collaboratively on managing our virtual servers, focusing on seamless integration and ensuring high performance in all applications.
• Pipelines and Automation: Create effective pipelines and scripts to automate processes and workflow.

Application Development & AI Solution:

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using advanced technologies including Python, Flask, Linux OS, Git, Docker, Restful API, and other relevant frameworks.
• Development & Maintenance: Create and sustain AI-focused applications, ensuring they are in line with the latest trends in data science and AI.

Job Requirements

• Experience: 2-5 years in DevOps or Engineering roles.
• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python, with knowledge in Flask, Linux OS, Git, Docker, and Restful API. Additional experience in Bash, Ruby, Mojo, or Rust is a plus.
