Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Manager to oversee and manage the legal functions. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, drafting and negotiating contracts, managing intellectual property, and providing strategic legal counsel to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor, lease, and partnership contracts.
- Ensure compliance with local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Manage intellectual property rights, including trademarks and copyrights.
- Provide legal advice on employment matters, consumer protection laws, and advertising guidelines.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks in business operations.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, disputes, and negotiations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, marketing, and HR, to ensure alignment on legal strategies.
- Keep up-to-date with legal trends and regulatory changes impacting the retail industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and active license to practice law.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, compliance regulations, and intellectual property rights.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
